Back when they were starting in the 80’s, Metallica did a lot of covers to fill out their live sets. Eventually they released some of those covers as part of a cover album, Garage Days Inc., which also had some new covers they recorded specifically for the album, like Turn the Page.
Yes, Metallica does a lot of covers. They have a whole album of covers, Garage Days Inc. They have probably covered Motorhead more than anyone else but they've done a couple of Queen covers and a heap of more obscure metal bands that inspired them. The cover of Deep Purple's "When a blind man cries" is one of the best but my favourite is Diamondhead's "Am i evil?"
Garage Days Re-Revisited and Garage Inc were their 2 cover albums. Everything that was on the first Garage Days was on the second so you only need to get the Garage Inc album

Hate to think we lost a member of the Metallica family and hope you got to that show to see them. I was at Foxborough at it was rain delayed but the stars came out and they soared, brother.
