Taylor Harkness yeah do u guys have massive trailers? U only really get very small trailers or horse boxes based on what u guys call a semi(I think?) or vans in the UK

Lottie i do think our US trailers tend to be bigger than those in Europe. I think it’s mostly because we have what we call ‘trucks’ that can haul a lot of weight and we are able to use these bigger trucks and trailers because we have wider roads in the US when compared to Europe. A ‘van’ or ‘horse box’ is extremely rare in the US and I’ve only seen one in my life time in the US, but saw them everywhere in Europe. I also think what plays a role in trailer size is the amount of horses. Most people who trailer horses have 3 or more at a time. It is often more cost effective to have a truck pull a trailer that can accommodate up to 6 horses (some even hold 9!) then it would be to have a horse ‘van’ or whatever it would be called(don’t know if the name changes when a horse is placed perpendicular to the rode versus being parallel?). Those are just some of the generalizations I’ve picked up on :)

Yeah 😂 as an Aussie this is so weird because we normally tow a smallish trailer for 2 or 3 horses and they get towed by 4WDs most the time (smaller than your American trucks but better off-road)

You should get her a well trained miniature horse in a few years! It’d be a great way for you to learn about horses and how they behave too. If you’re in the US, I’d recommend getting involved with 4-H. That’s how I got started and I learned a ton from joining the miniature horse club.

@@bippy201 And just to add on, make sure you know how to care for a mini bc they can have a lot of health issues so do your research. Also, make sure your granddaughter learns too. This can't be a pony phase that she goes through and then gets fed up with. She needs to commit to looking after the pony as well and learn how to care for a horse. Hope this helps

whoahotcowgirl01 ......Horses from rural areas will not drink chlorinated town water, and even between towns the water is different, they are fussy and can die of it, or tie up from dehydration. Good idea is to carry your own water, but press the point before you use it, try and get them accustomed to drinking anything, but do use your own if they staunchly refuse.

Is there a special name for a truck that hauls horses? Have never seen one like it. Don't clutter up the sides and make them too busy. Less is more still means classy.
