In 1980, a group of ice hockey players in Minnesota were looking for a way to practice during the summer.[1] Scott and Brennan Olson formed the company Rollerblade, Inc., to sell skates with four polyurethane wheels arranged in a straight line on the bottom of a padded boot.[1] In 1988, Rollerblade introduced the first aggressive inline skate, the Rollerblade Lightning TRS. Aggressive inline skating developed as an organized sport in the early 1990s.[2] In 1994 the National Inline Skate Series, better known as NISS was launched as the first aggressive skating competition series. Promoters Rick Stark and Mark Billik sold Taco Bell on sponsoring the series for $150,000 and a six stop series was born. NISS, went strong for 5 years holding contests in Los Angeles, New York, Rome and Brazil. NISS was the first series to put aggressive inline on television with an ESPN deal for the 1994 series and later moving the competition series to PRIME TICKET-Fox Sports. The Aggressive Skaters Association (ASA) was formed by a number of aggressive inline skaters in 1995 as a forum to develop rules governing competitions and equipment.[2] The sport was included in the first ESPN X-Games in 1995 and included vertical ramp and street event competitions.[3] It reached its height in popularity in the late 90s, with mainstream movies like Disney's Brink! and other films. The brand "Senate", run by Arlo Eisenberg and several other prominent skaters, enjoyed mainstream popularity during the 1990s.
Founded by company owners/skating legends Brian Shima, Jon Julio, and Kato Mateu and supported by all major skate companies, the World Rolling Series (WRS) links together the best skaters, event organizers, retailers and skate parks and aims to "create a tighter knit community, increase overall awareness and set a higher standard for aggressive rollerblading." The WRS circuit started in 2009 with 10 established professional contests in France, Netherlands, England, Spain, Argentina, Australia and the United States. In 2012, WRS included 100+ amateurs and professional events in over 20 countries.

Do you have wide feet? I've bought Razors cult V2 coppers and they are narrow as fuck. Gotta sell em because of that and get new ones. Looking for good suggestions :D

I have large wide feet. The blanks are perfect for wide feet. (So are the Sways).

I was a pretty die hard Aeon skater since 2019, i’ve tried literally 99% of the aggressive skates on the market and always went straight back to Aeons. Picked a pair of these up for an absolute steal brand new on blade trade and couldnt be happier with them. The weight coming from Aeons took a couple sessions to get used to, but now i dont even notice at all. I skate my with intuition premiums which allows me to have the buckles loose but the liners done up tight which still gives me a ton of support. Have had zero issues with pressure points or numb feet since skating these and a few sessions have been around 4 hours long. The shallow grooves threw me a bit at first, deffo a skate that needs a good curb session out of the box. Was using fluid 4’s and felt like i kept almost slipping out of the grooves so put some creates on and that has solved that issue straight off. Just a solid all round great high quality skate! Would recommend them to anyone looking for a new skate.

I just binned my M12 Loco boot as I had tried to mod it to get the fit perfect. They were similar colour to the pigeons. I might have to go and purchase the pigeons now!!!

The hot-spot issue is relative to how Blanks are laced. With waxed laces (10mm width/Hockey) the problem dissolves by how much pressure is applied at each level, allowing your footbed resizer to remain for a snug fit.

I had the same issue with the pressure point same spot same foot. The pain turned me away from the skates. Love the look and soles. Skates fit perfect length I jus couldnt get past the pressure point🤷🏻‍♂️ Also never used the footboards so I had nothin to remove to make the skate let up on the pain

I use the blank team skates and enjoy them . I originally bought them skates 909s but didn’t like the fit so I bought these ,They are kinda heavy , coming from a deshi carbon . They are solid skates and once I got use to them they are great for me

I love your vids man. My 36yo ass just picked up some lomax aeons and have been ripping it up again. Really seems like a lot of us who went hard as a kid are coming back to blading now and re lighting that fire. They stay in my work truck and I pass at least 3parks a day.

The solo might be the lighter older version, as it has wholes in the shell and you can dismount the negative soulplate...

Awesome vid! It was entertaining watching you skate buildings that I frequented during my undergrad! Regarding the weight of the Blanks, I have been skating the Aeons Team 60 with the Sliqx for 8 months. About 2 weeks ago I switched to the Blank Pigeon Skates with Oysi Med frames (I love the Aeons but I just really wanted a skate to try the Oysi med frames on lol). I was originally worried about the weight (they are definitely heavy when holding them), but honestly the Blanks are so solid and with the combination of soul plate design and extra heft in that area, I felt like my confidence level on locking grinds increased significantly. It took me 1/2 of a session to adjust to the weight but, for me, almost everything, from grinds to landing jumps, just feels a tad more solid and more confidence inspiring in the Blanks vs the Aeons. I will give the carving and nimbleness victory to the Aeons though... flat 60 on those give me that feeling of riding an urban 80mm setup. To be clear, the Blanks with Oysi med frames feel nimble and carve well, but the Aeons are exceptional in those areas, at least to me. So if I'm wanting to grind, for me the Blanks are my preference, and days where I'm skating bowls/ transitions with less focus on grinds, I'll take the Aeons :)

great video, skating and review; I have got the Blanks myself and I LOVE THEM! I wear them with Pat-Ridder-Intuition Liners and screwed the buckles off-> they skate and feel great; also I can recommend them with FLT Freestyle frames; boot-down never felt easier :) and they look dope!

I am currently rolling on NJ Teams and really want to buy a pair of these but there’s no 11-11.5 size option. What gives? Any body out there with that size foot doing ok in the size 12 SKs?
