7:58: if you trying to get him to trot don’t just kick and I do see you using the crop but I fun little thing I say in my head is first squeez and if he doesn’t respond to that cluck like 3 times and if he also don’t respond to that then you can kick a little and if he still doesn’t respond to that then you can use the crop and hit him on but butt. And if you want a horse to go forward dont tap them on the shoulder. You don’t do that it just a see most riders do that lol

yeah a tip for transitions is there are stages! the first stage is suggest (squeeze with your whole leg gently), then ask (maybe squeeze harder or do a bump bump), the third is tell (clicking/crop/gentle kicks), and the last one is promise (basically just following through)! im also new to riding (ive only been riding a year or so) and youre doing great!!!
