@@grahamkelly8662 between 12-15 is almost universally agreed upon to be the sweet spot. I personally can't comment as I've only ever used the CSL DD with both 5 and 8nm.
@@grahamkelly8662 I definitely prefer the 8 over the 5. It isn't too powerful but still strong enough that it feels like you're actively driving. It can be a decent arm and upper body workout cranked all the way up.
@@OutLanderUSN I’m actually not a big bloke. About 5”6 and slim. With this in mind, do you think it’s pointless getting 15NM? 8Nm is £300 less then 15NM at £700 and I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to handle more then 7nm , properly between 4-6nm. I’m just going by my g29 giving me arm ache. I just need to decide on 5 8 or 15NM not only this but I keep seeing horror story about Fanatec poor quality control and poor customer service. I’d be so anxious to spend so much money and possibly wait months for replacement, if faulty. It’s just stressing me out so much.
Wow so many ppl have said it already but im slighty high but even i can tell (maybe more then others lol) that this editing was generally one of the most authentic and real videos with Good Old Fashion comedy ive seen in a long time, and on top of the fact that i have come into my obsession with sim racing less then a year ago i believe, This is the exact video i needed to see :)
I recommend the next level racing wheel stand 2.0. Really sturdy and has a tray to hold your chair wheels so you don't roll away. I also tossed some locking caster wheels under it so i can move it to my desk and put it away when I'm done. I have the same wheel and pedal setup. Boost kit, load cell, and shifter coming soon.
Wellcome to the hobby man, gonna be fun to see ya progression in to simracing, im been in this hobby for 5 years and still going strong and just keep spending money and time on it, best hobby out there.
Great first video! New sub here - and someone who's also unable to focus on much else while waiting for their Fanatec delivery! Looking forward to more vids. You've inspired me to have a crack at some content of my own :)
Adapt, improvise, overcome! Good stuff man. The DD bundle has been my first foray into it and months later I still love it. You've got a knack for this youtube lark.
This is pretty cool to watch as someone who has been into this hobby for over 10 years now. I wish I could experience this for the first time again, there is nothing like it. I was expecting to see more FOV police comments down here, definitely check out the Sim Racing FOV video from Chris Haye. In Sim Racing it's not so much about preference but about getting the correct FOV. Get the monitor as close the wheel as you can and use an FOV calculator from there.
I did searching for that too :D hehe... well found it :D FoV, FoV and once more FoV before you driving any further, cuz each change of the FoV well set your driving off! :D
Awsome video! I'm thinking of buying myself one and I have a question, does it come with the stuff to mount it or do you have to buy the stuff to mount the wheel seperatly?
I ordered my Fanatec CSL DD, Formula Wheel 2.5X, CSL Elite v2 pedals for Black Friday November 24th and am still waiting for shipping :( I also ordered a compatible 8nm power supply on Aliexpress for €30 ^^
😂same here went from 7 years of keyboard/mouse racing to CSL DD, but my package still trap in Fanatec warehouse until next year. I hope I can try it out soon. Nice video pal
Great to see that the clamp works with the keyboard sliding undertable thing as I have a similar setup and was afraid the clamp might not work for me. I have a Logitech G25 and that works with the sliding undertable. Now I know the Fanatec clamp will also work and there is no excuse not getting one.
Congrats on the new setup, Note on the ABS/TC comment, Realize real life race cars have aids for good reason, So i would suggest sticking with the "factory" ac settings as those allow the Default factory assists to work properly when jumping in car to car.
I picked this up as well this year, i bought a 8nm adapter on ebay for 60 bucks, i def reccomend, doubles the ffb, the 5nm is weak. Welcome to an expensive hobby, 😂
Hello, I am in doubt about purchasing this pack with the table accessory. Can you tell me how many cm there are from the edge of the table to the steering wheel? I need to know in case I don't have any driving space left since the steering wheel comes off the table a lot compared to my T150 pro. thank you!! and to enjoy.
I totally enjoyed watching this my guy 😎. Can see this channel exploding with subs soon🧐. Keep doing what you're doing, can't wait to say i told ya so 🫡🇬🇧
I love this man, I'm partially disabled just ordered the fanatec gt3 mclaren because of the paddles on it. Should help me alot So I can do this for 10 to 20 years lol. I can use pedals just some days it's rough.
Awesome! Congrats on the new setup and welcome to an insanely addictive hobby lol. Go ahead and turn those racing lines back on. It will really help with hitting breaking zones. The controllers tend to be much more forgiving in that aspect so I say use it until you get more comfortable. I really enjoyed watching this! Thanks for the video!
Yea I agree to turn on the racing guide line on Great to help with new tracks and I use it for reference points ie I would go past the racing guide line by say a car length then do my turn in if it works better. especially if there isn't a reference point on the track you can use
Unless you plan on racing with the racing line on, dont use them while learning the track either. Learn the track in the same conditions you will race it. It might take a few more laps to memorize the turns but you will actually memorize the track instead of learning to follow "painted" lines..
100% agreed, this was enjoyable to watch even if it is mostly about "basic things", yet you made it entertaining. Keep it up and more people follow you, oh and shorts, make shorts about silly happenings, and like "Pirate Software" said, do not click the "post to my subscribers" or how it was and it will have wider reach ;)
Absolutely loved the video. Wishing you best time and great discoveries in this journey into the sim-racing. I wish i can feel all the emotions from the first drive on the wheel again 😊
Are you sure that was a "Toyota whatchamacallit? It looked like a Nissan 180 or 200 or 240sx. Especially the headlights. The headlights spacing looked identical to my fisrt car, even the same color. It made me feel nostalgic. I wish gt7 had my exact model which was a 1986 Nissan 200sx xe manual 6 speed, with the digital speedometer and tachometer that i bought in 96 for $1500 and drive for 5 years.
Congrats to you man for getting a wheel! I've never used a wheel either but I have a CSL DD ordered and on its way along with Clubsport V2 pedals and a GT Omega Apex stand. I got a really nice price on them since it was black Friday. I can't wait to see what it's like.
@trevormartin8497 I'm with my buddy! He has informed me that it is indeed a mountain car. Said there was an anime that was famous for it. Regardless! Thanks for hanging out to the end!
What camera did you use to record that waiting sequence? It looked liked a real goddamn movie! I wanna start making cinematic videos and I'm curious what exact camera model should I pick without breaking the bank.
Good video! Ive been wanting to buy a wheel for a while now but Ive always played using chase cam so am undecided as I really struggle playing cockpit view and I'm thinking using a wheel in chase cam view might not work. Either way, youve got a good persona on cam and I'm looking to seeing more of your videos, Im getting Chester Bennington vibes 🤣
I love Linkin Park so much! However my sense of humor comes from my dad through and through. Also, I had the same issue. From what I can tell so far, chase cam is great if you dont know the corners. But cockpit is the way to go with a wheel. Feels good!
And about the people making fun of you... we ALL started as noob and we all went through the grinding to get better. Have fun and learn along the way 🙂
Great video! I love it. Very nice editing and color grading. Road2Racer!...Yes, I would like to see more racing content. Keep up the good work! You will probably have to buy or build a racing rig next. I'm afraid your glass desk might break at any moment! 😉
I just got my CSL DD two weeks ago and it feels weird, it's like something is hitting the wheel behind, I don't know...not what I expected. I also use it on a chair with wheels so I got some sort of special rubber coasters that fit under your wheels and they are SOLID, the chair isn't going anywhere, only 6 EURO
I am sorry but you have just started to spend money for simracing, you will go for cockpit first then when you get exp. you would like to have loadcell pedal as -well , then triple monitör, you would like to experiance VR as well but you will buy and sell again. Mıddle of this process you would like to have f1 type of wheel . It will happen in 6-7 months maximum :D. Then you are going to feel that you need go for real sims like ACC, İracing and especially iracing deep hole tons of money + When you jump into iracing you are going to buy Prof paid setups because you need it if you want to keep up with the other ppl . Then Buttkicker+ shifter+handbrake :D endless storyy :D ( This was my exp :) ) I have invested around 5k eur in total :D
You might as well get a racing cockpit with a decent adjustable seat. I went with, out of economic and ignorant reasons, a Next Level Racing GT lite Pro. It's foldable to out it away, but if you don't need a folding/hide away rig, don't bother. I thought that would be a useful feature, but I don't need to put my rig away. Desk driving is not anywhere near as enjoyable and Immersive. I only drive in GT7 + PSVR2, so i'm totally immersed, and therefore, it's totally awesome.
That was an entertaining video! I'm a bit ahead of you with a (Logitech) wheel and VR, but my Fanatec stuff will eventually arrive...so it was good to see how you found it. Keep making videos, this was good!
I’m waiting for my Bundle to come currently! I can’t wait. I don’t know if anyone else mentioned, but you might want to be careful with clamping that to a glass desk, I’d be worried it could break the glass!
Eliminating all movement (except from the shaft) from your CSL DD is the the most effective upgrade. Doesn't matter how you achieve it, there are wheel stands and rigs, or you could tailor something specific to your space. I'd recommend a load cell brake pedal (the CSL ELITE V2'S are probably the best value) and you need to be able to stand on them without anything moving. You'll notice more fine detail, and have better car control. I'd recommend using the lightest wheel you can find, it will make the most of the CSL DD's output (at 5 or 8nm) I believe these improvements would maximise your experience and increase your enjoyment and performance on track and possibly even in the bedroom.
I used to PC race years ago with a Logitech Momo wheel. Recently got a Logitech G Pro wheel and pedals for my son, now I have my own account and I am re-starting sim racing. The wheel makes all the difference. I would never start again if I had to use a hand controller.
HI, IM ABOUT TO PURCHASE ONE TOO, BUT I NEED ADVICE.... the bundle says wheel comes with qr2 ok, but on the base description says qr1. so does the wheel come with qr1 aswell and they just give the qr2 for wheel side included? but then thats no use as the qr2 base side isnt available till jan 14th... at the check out i added the qr2 base side but said can n ot be shipped untill all parts are available.. i dont know if to buy it and hope for the best but i dont see why they are giving the half of the qr2 as advertised right now. wheel comes with qr2 but that means its not ready to race as the base says qr1
like me 7 months ago but now i am driving ACC LFM with boost kit and mclaren wheel + quick release , the quick release(QR1 ) with the boost to 8 nM is an must it will give you the feeling you are now driving with toys , and the tableclamp was broken after 1 month , first i bought the v2 but now GT OMEGA APEX Wheel Stand ( in my opinion best budget wheel stand )
I'm pissed off it took until Dec 2023 for me to find out that I can drive basically any car and install a million mods to drive around the PCH/California highways in assetto. I have my csl dd coming soon! Also is that a glass desk you're on? I'd get rid of that ASAP if it is glass desks break on their own I can't imagine how bad having the stress of the CSL on it going back and forth is. Sucks your so limited on room
Fun video. 👍 Takes me back my first wheel, which was just a Logitech G29. You've started at a very decent level. Welcome to the money pit. 😂 Well done removing the wheel in game. There's loads of advice I could give, but I think for now the first would be, move your in game camera closer to you, so you are not looking at where the wheel used to be, instead your visible dash just shows your Speedo at the base of your screen. The direct drive of the wheel on the screen that is showing, that your virtual wheel was attached to, should be out of sight, and in the position as if it is coming from the back of your actual Fanatec wheel. There's a whole universe of fov advice, but no wheel or driver arms in game, and the dash of the car on screen looking like it would if you were in the cockpit using your sim wheel, that's all you really need to fine tune and dial it in mate. If you want to ease into racing, I've a friendly group I run with, and we'd be happy to race with you online just for fun to build confidence whenever you feel ready. Good luck, and keep practicing. 👊
Your not a sissy the automatic setup on sim Fanatec CSL Dd set up is better than shifting the fanatec club shifter ..I have the same fanatec Setup with the wheel ..Racing pedals and Base forget the haters be u I’m being me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ok you ready to take it to a crazy level get some Bass shakers put it under you chair and you can feel the bumps in the road and motor, shifting, rumble strips on track so much fun and it is cheap. Look it up, you can do it cheap, like 100$.
@@Road2Racer recently had to put my PC and sim in storage and my 350z drift car is broken thank you for the content while I get through these troubled times ahahahhaaha 😂
The shoes is a good trick.. I use a bungie system that attaches to my chair and my GT Omega wheel-stand to leave a little play. Ghetto af, but it works.
Did you have any issues on getting your tracking number from fanatic ordered mine on the 26th and says that’s it’s completely shipped on the 27th but can’t find a tracking number
Go sign up for FedEx and UPS accounts. Then opt in for notifications on packages coming your way. You can also track by reference on those sites where you can use your order number.
Hi. Thinking of buying something similar to you and never had a driving wheel before. Only a controller. 2 questions. How the pedals feels and how strong is the wheel base? Going online you read some many things, load cells, a million nm of torque etc. Do you think what you bought is enough for a beginner or you would change something? You remind me that's why I am asking this question :)
Two things, get the mouse pointer out the middle of the screen when your racing, and come join us in the eternal pits of suffering and toil, aka iRacing. Just joking, good video. I'm getting one of these to replace my G29 and this was a good review as any and more entertaining for sure. I don't comment on youtube videos Seriously though, yield your soul to the one true racing experience which is iRacing.
Mate, awesome content, many milion subs youtubers wished to have such videos. Absolutely love it, you R funny, nice to watch and ejoing af. As yt addict I can tell one thing that music sometimes was unnecessery in my opinion and could be mached better (mainly I mean the beggining)> But overall its amazing and as I sad, many big youtubers wishs' to have such videos
