Seb I think you should really like the Hellboy movies with Ron Perlman and I would love to see your reaction to them. I feel like they have the same vibe as Alita too😉
Oh Seb you would love Ex Machina from 2014 so much. Definitely darker than the things you’ve been watching lately but I know for sure that you would be so into it
This is based on the first 3-6 chapters of the Gunm Battle Angel manga series. Which spans some 50+ chapters. Which many of the fates of the characters did not surprise me since I read the manga.
Really shows who haven't seen LOTR movies in the theaters when they came. (talking about the cliffhanger) Imagine waiting for the next Christmas to watch Frodo and Sam walk down that hill. And then when battle of Helms deep was over you had to wait for the next Christmas for the Battle of Middle Earth to begin.
Finally, I got Your reaction to Alita, my most favorite, beloved movie (and this is thanks to Alita herself, who was played perfectly by Rosa Salazar. Rosa gave Alita real soul and emotion, becoming my favorite actress). I'm glad You liked it. In a few days it will be the fifth anniversary of the film's premiere, and there is still no information about the sequel to Alita. As You can see, this film directly points to the continuation of the story. I hope that James Cameron (who was the screenwriter and producer of the film) will take up the further fate of Alita. Although for now he's only focused on Avatars :/ while waiting in hope for the sequel, all that remains is to read the original Alita, i.e. the manga (although the film began to "diverge" plot-wise compared to the manga). When I feel partially fulfilled, I would love to see Your reaction to my second favorite movie - Tenet by Nolan.
Its part 1 of 3. Heard part 2&3 was recently greenlit. Not sure where I heard that or if its 100% confirmed but I remember taking the statement seriously so I was some official outlet.
If like the motorball thing in this then you should really check out the movie Rollerball. It's a movie that's about sport competition that's similar to motorball only with humans playing it instead of cyborgs and it's pretty hardcore. Image rugby, rollerblading and a basketball like game rolled into 1. Loved this movie but had the same thing as you when finishing it and wanted to know what was going to happen next. Unfortunately it wasn't successful enough for the studio to make a sequel to continue the story.
This movie is indeed a setup. The story is long and detailed and there's no way to get everything into one script. I''m ready and waiting for what's to come.
The movie was made from the manga "Battle Angel Alita" that was written back in 1990. You comment about the "tropes" well where do you think the tropes came from. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Angel_Alita
Seb this is based on an anime that’s based on a manga. If you truly enjoyed this movie you should watch the anime. I’m sure people would love your reaction to the anime.
I wish they didn't scrapped the trilogy. Moviemakers had a lot of confident in this movie so to make sequels. But even marketing and good action scenes and phenomenal cgi didn't turn out profitable. I like the movie, it is very entertaining. Not much story going on, but I never felt bored anywhere for even a second. So yeah, it does leave an unsatisfied taste. And I can't think of any other badass cool female mc like Alita.
What was "broken" in Alita, in my opinion, was building a story for a continuation, with no guarantee that a continuation would be made. How many films were made that could have had nice, complex stories, but were abandoned because there was no $$$. Unfortunately, this sense of artistry has been lost and there is only accounting and earnings charts. Although I still hope to see Alita on the big screen, again.
I'm always a little sad when people praise the anime as this movies source material... Because the anime, in turn, is based on a manga. The story differs somewhat but the movie still got many recognizable parts of it. The manga was so much better than the anime, in my opinion. Sad that nobody else seems to know it 😅 You want the sequel right now? Go read the manga, people! 👍
Because Cameron is a fan of the OG Manga and spent 20 years refining this script (To the point where Rodriguez needed to step in because Cameron was reaching such a perfectionist level that it was never gonna happen if someone didn't step in).
This movie surprised the hell out of me with how good it is. The fact that Ed Skrein is in it as a villain is pretty awesome. especially after seeing him in the first Deadpool movie as the main villain, Ajax AKA Francis.
This film is very faithful to its source anime from the 90s so when the dog showed up at 3:38 when I was seeing this in the theaters with my spouse, I squeezed their hand very hard, because I knew that 21:58 would be coming sooner or later. This film was too long in coming. One of the most badass things to come out of 90s anime, it blew my mind when I read an interview shortly after Titanic where they asked James Cameron what he was doing next, and he mentioned that he'd bought the rights to this story. Said he didn't feel he could do it justice right away, so he wanted to work on a little personal project first as a warm up and as a testbed for the CGI technology he would need. Well, that personal project turned out to be Avatar, and he ended up getting contractually locked into the sequel treadmill, so he tapped probably the only other director who could have handled this right. The anime only tells a fraction of the story that the manga does, so they have a ton of plot they can mine for the sequels.
Fun fact: This movie was very close to not getting a sequel. It didn't do well at the box office, critics didn't look at it well, and when Disney bought Fox, it just looked like it was over. And then Cameron made over $2B with Avatar 2 and earned a "Do whatever the flying fuck you want" card from Disney. So now it is getting one.
In the manga, Dr. Ido took care of a cat named Alita. In the original video animation (OVA), Chiren was an original character created as Dr. Ido's wife, and this was also carried over to the live-action adaptation. In the story, Alita was their daughter, but she was unfortunately murdered, leading to a rift in Chiren and Dr. Ido's marriage. Interestingly, in both the manga and the OVA, the title is called Battle Angel: Alita, while the live-action adaptation flipped the name in reverse.
The more moves I see Christopher Waltz in, the more I love him as an actor. He does great in Hateful 8 and Django Unchained. Pretty much any actor that worked with Tarantino is amazing. Jamie Foxx, Michael Madsen, Uma Thurman, Sam Jackson... the list goes on.
I was utterly OBSESSED with this flick when it first came out. Still watch it all the time. It hits the right notes of sci-fi, cyber punk, and gritty graphic novel for me. Shit sang to my soul man, simply beautiful.
When you said there was another Alita movie coming out soon i double taked so fast. Last I had checked people wanted it but nothing had been said, so it was assumed no.
I am literally FREAKING OUT! I suggested this in a comment on a previous video and I can’t believe it has actually happened!!! Thanks so so much Seb! I LOVE YOU DARLING 😭❤️🙏🏼
I bought the DVD/Blueray combo pack of this right after it came out. Worth every penny I spent! It's a shame this didn't get the recognition it so deserved. It was released right at the same time 'Captain Meh' (Marvel) was, and they were really pushing the BS feminist 'woman stronger than man' rhetoric, as opposed to a really strong character role that just happens to be a woman. James Cameron has a lot more material for subsequent sequels, and now that the flailing Avatar 2 is out of the way, I really hope he tasks Robert Rodriguez with directing the follow-up episodes! There is another in the works from what I heard a few days ago, and I can't wait to see where it goes! Rosa Salazar already stated a few years ago, that she was ready to play as many future episodes as possible. Like she said, it doesn't matter how old she gets, live motion capture will fix everything!😍⚔
Thanks for reacting to my favorite under-rated movie, for which I named myself. I wanted to point out, when she says "and I'm just an insignificant girl", I think she's pointing out to Grewishka what a fool he is. She, the insignificant girl about to destroy him, is giving him a chance to reconsider his attack, though she knows he's incapable of being anything but a bully.
Such a good 1st entry but too bad the sequel has been in and out of development hell forever. We’ll probably never get the continuation but to this day I still hope for it…
Seb is fr just one of the homies lol. Prolly will never know of my existence but fuckin A I love this channel dude. Plz never stop content creating. Even if it isn't reactions you was born to be an entertainer. Funny ash and super raw I fw it so heavy dude. Channel already big af but I can see being a top reactor any minute now, or even if you decided to branch off into other niches gonna dominate any lane you go into. Good shit man 😂💯
Seb, you should totally react to Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein and Robin Hood men in tights. They are all super funny and I would really appreciate it, if you checked them out :)
This movie is such an underrated masterpiece, sure there are somethings that they are missing but overall it's a 10/10 one of the best movies I've seen. I remember watching a video when I saw an ad and it was the trailer for this movie in 2018-2019 and I remember falling in love with it and right when it came out I went to see it in theatres (by the way it's so cool in 3D), also just wanted to let you know that the dog did not die at the end there was a little clip or the cyborg pup coming out of the box- it was super cute! And by the way the whole crew was AMAZING and during an even they gave a little girl Animatronic arm that looked like Alita's, I don't know if they gave more kids those kind of arms but I feel like they possibly could've! Anyways I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy Seb, and by the way they are making another Alita I believe!
Alita's fighting style is "Wing-Chun", a Kung-Fu style used by Ip-Man, the young Bruce Lee teacher. In the Japanese Manga (comics) they gave Alita's style the name from the movie, a fake martial art name.
I would die for some cybernetics and stuff but then cyberpunk 2077 and anime turns the world darker and violent and jsut place where no good happens no happy endings
The source material is from a manga, its very old too. Originally there were at least 3 movies planned but the first wasnt enough of a success to go through with it straight away. They did a bit better than break even as far as I know. Originally James Cameron (Avatar director) grabbed the rights to it years ago but was so busy doing the avatar movies that he put Robert Rodriguez on this. I think theres some rumors that James Cameron might go back to the prequels of alita once the avatar movies are done.
It's funny that you said that Alita is a little too OP and that you wish we saw her train when the movie literally states that she's an advanced superweapon and a berserker fighter. She doesn't need to train 😭😭
The CG is good, fight scenes are good, but I feel no connection to any of those characters, the romance didn't do any good too to me. But I guess the source material is good, considering a lot of people really like this IP.
I love this movie so much. I have volume I of the comic right next to me and a poster from the movie on the wall. I truly hope they make more and finish the story. Each year the hopes dwindle and we get 💩 like the marvels… 🤷♂️
