This movie was received very well actually! Both review wise and at the box office. A fourth movie has been rumored ever since this came out. Mike Meyers just hasn’t been able to get an idea that inspires him enough. He’s actually hinted several times over the years about doing a fourth one and even hinted last year about being very interested in doing another one and that he may be developing it

I had my own “mole” moment when meeting my brother-in-law’s mother. Someone mentioned it previously but I hadn’t noticed. Then after a 20 hour car ride I found myself sitting across the table from her. It was like “Oh no! I see it.” My mom still calls her Mole-any in private sometimes.

Goldmember was a blockbuster hit at the time, they just didn't make a 4th one because Mike Meyers couldn't come up with a story worth telling. Mad respect for that decision. But that was then, there's talk of a possible new one now but I think it's been too long. I fear a Dumb & Dumber 2.
