I don’t think the family hated Bruno for everything (the townsfolk are another story). The only one who seemed to have a personal grudge was the woman whose wedding was ruined cuz he made her panic on her wedding day. And in that case, I kinda get it. Bruno made a bad joke, made her panic, and then it became a self fulfilling prophecy. The mom felt sad that he was gone, the girl with powerful hearing defended and kept him hidden, and the shapeshifter boy is highly implied to never have even met him. It seemed more like the continuous disappointment he felt he caused, and the fear the blame ppl normally place on him would go to Maribel was what made him leave. I get that an apology would be great, but at the same time this is a movie and it’s highly implied everyone is ok with each other and we can just assume forgiveness took place without having to spend time hearing them apologize. The fault is pretty clear, so the audience doesn’t need to watch it,
@@BelBelle468Nah, they all are trying to please Abuela. Abuela says Bruno is evil, everyone says Bruno is evil. Camillo literally thinks of him as a boogeyman, because the grown ups been talking like that about him.
@@dm_dude i agree even the one with superhearing ignored and hid the fact Bruno is still around because how everyone is talking about him but she also hears Bruno stories he tells himself making her not wanting to tell others in case they'll chase him or or something
I don't even know how many times I watched this movie. I had both Under the Surface (Luisa's song) and We Don't Talk About Bruno memorized. They did do Bruno dirty. They did Mirabel too, but she at least got an apology. Mirabel did get her own door in the end. Hers just happened to be to the whole house. She replaces her Abuelo's candle, she holds the magic now.
Fun fact- Mirabel means wondrous.. and she really is. This is one of my favorite movies hands down! I love that there’s so many different dynamics, and each character has their own thing going on and their own struggles that people can relate to just like in real life. At first you dislike Isabella and then you realize she’s been trapped in this role that she has the live up to with no room for error doing things that she doesn’t even want to do for the sake of the family, which is likely why she had resentment towards Mirabel for being able to be “free”.. her pressure for perfection was even limiting her powers and potential and affecting her ability to make things other than perfect little flowers.. that’s how you know that it was really weighing her down. Pressure was definitely my favorite song when I first watched this movie and even though it’s a total bop, it broke my heart for Louisa. Pepa couldn’t have a bad day without ruining everybody’s environment. And poor Dolores just never got any peace of mind for her own thoughts.. I think she just learned to keep all secrets to herself because she knows way too many peoples secrets. Although she did admit in the song, “we don’t talk about Bruno”, that she hears him muttering and mumbling.. And as good Dolores was at keeping secrets, I think she blurted out Mirables secret at their dinner because she low key didn’t want Isabella’s and ole dudes engagement to work out (can’t remember his name lol) Ive heard this a lot but I definitely think the house and candle were Abuelos spirit.. And Mirabel is definitely the next matriarch. I have empathy for Abuela, even though I recognize she was putting too much pressure on everyone. She endured so much trauma. She witnesses her husbands death for starters.. and then had to pick up and get it together instantly to raise TRIPLETS, which is no easy feat, and simultaneously help the whole village.. Side note -36:05 it took them months (without powers) to rebuild their house.. they were talking about the seasons changing and turning in that last song .. a day woulda been crazy tho lol
i think it would have hit harder if the magic house didnt come back but i mean, i don't mind to omuch a magic house is fucking cool especially this one.
The last good Disney movie made. Let’s hope the tv series turned movie Moana 2 is decent at least. I wish Disney would allow their creators more freedom again.
