I’m sure it’s obvious to a lot of people, but to anyone that it isn’t… When Winnie absorbed all that power her eyes glowed the same colour as the witch we see in the flashback, before her sisters - her coven - disintegrates. And the witch, when asked where her coven was, alluded to the fact that they weren’t alive. Because she too had cast the spell to become all-powerful and lost everyone she cared about, hence why she made the girls promise to never cast the spell. She was trying to spare them the same fate that she had.

I already cried seeing this movie's ending the first time but now I just full on sobbed with Rizzo's tribute added to it. I wish more people liked the ending. It's meant to be a bittersweet one as we most likely we never see these three women together as the sisters on a screen again. It's a farewell to the women who made the Hocus Pocus franchise what it is today - before Disney creates a new show/movie series following these three new characters (who have some big shoes to fill).

So glad you pointed out 1. How amazing the actress that plays Young Winnie is (you can tell she really studied the first movie) and 2. Billy's sudden accent?? I haven't seen anyone else mention it and it drove me nuts the entire movie. Also, even in the first one Garry Marshall's character was like "It's the Sanderson Sisters, right?" so people have at least a vague concept of what they would look like or at least know enough that 3 witches together with a red haired leader = Sanderson sisters.

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you lol… Even if he had a faint accent in the first movie, it was just that, Faint. And I’m specifically referencing when he calls Winne a “bucktoothed firefly form hell”. He didn’t talk a lot in the last movie but he did talk and you didn’t hear or barely noticed an accent. And in this one the first two words out of his mouth had a HEAVY accent. If you apply the accent from this movie to the last one, The few lines he had would’ve sounded very different 😅

I've been saying this since I saw th movie. The book is literally full of evil spells, is made of human skin and might still be from the devil. The reuniting spell is literally a spell that kills the target to reunite them with a loved one. And those girls are keeping it...WHY!?

the witch mother was the one who gave the book to them when she realized that they were different, however, they become witches when they give up their souls to the devil. the book was probably a gift from the devil to the witch mother, which she gave to the sisters so that they could become a new coven. the witch mother performed the forbidden spell, that's why her eyes were purple when she appears and also when she says her coven left. that's why she warned Winifred and her sisters never to do the spell, because she had to lose her own coven to become immortal and extremely powerful. So, in the end, the rumor about Winnie receiving the book from satan isn’t all fake, cause by the end of the day mother witch probably got the book with the devil cause they are all satanic witches.

I love you guys so much! I love their return and songs in the film. The young cast of the Sanderson Sisters did such an awesome job. I wonder if they are to make another film of the new coven of Witches. I was surprised in the reaction of the Book, allowing the book to have a choice. However it is a great surprise I enjoyed. Just because Alyson in Hocus Pocus SAID that the story was that Satan gave the Sanderson sisters the book it doesn't mean it ACTUALLY happened that way. I can easily picture the Reverend preaching about how "satan himself" gave them the book just making it up on the spot. So I don't see that as an inconsistency or mistake. BTW I read that the reason that Mary says Cowabunga is that she did voice work for a Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon and they say cowabunga there too.

It’s unfortunate that this movie is meant to be a little more heartwarming than the first one and Rizzo is the only one actually that felt bad for the sisters while Benji had zero sympathy for any of the sisters dying. This movie was supposed to make you care for them, not that they’re villains, but the fact that they care about each other more than anything. Also, everybody in the town knew about the Sanderson sisters not only in this movie, but the first movie to that shouldn’t be a new thing.

The first movie is of course iconic. It was a horror movie for kids, which also adults could enjoy - very much. I wish the second film would have been darker and more sinister, not so much focused on fan service, just showing us three old, but beautiful, mean children eating witches with a guest appearance of the devil!

I cried at the end too because they remind me so much of my mom and her sisters, and although they are separated by distance I'm fortunate enough that they are still here. I agree that this didn't quite capture the charm of the first one but it was still a great legacy sequel and such a fun time. I actually liked it even more the second time. The songs didn't hit for me either but definitely grew on me the next time around!

Can you lose your blood virginity in exactly the same icky ways? Specifically is it only lost when you 1) willingly and 2) donate it, so if someone stole a bloody tissue or tied you to a sacrificial slab and you escaped later you still count as a virgin even though your blood got stolen

Loved this movie. Made me laugh. Nearly made me cry. The ladies killed it. I wanted them to be alive and together which is a testament to the writing and the acting. But, of course they had to go off. How else would they have made another one. Thanks for sharing Rizzo. It was very sweet to hear your mum and you are surrounded with such love.

The singing threw me off completely with this one. It felt so forced, like Disney just wanted to sell a soundtrack for some reason (money). HP2 did have some of the charm of the first, but I completely agree, I was here for the sisters, and I had my few laughs, and I'm good with that.

Actually I remember very distinctly crying at the end of this movie because I live so far from my sisters, but when the movie came out they were visiting and we watched it together before they had to leave The second hand grief of thinking about a world without them really tore my day up and while I was sad to see them leave to go live their life I’m thankful I still have them with me
