FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if RU-vid denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa, magnificent performance
@skyofthelivingdead

One of my favorite movies of all time. Christoph Waltz absolutely deserved the recognition he got from this movie because he went IN with his performance. When his smile fades after he confront the French farmer about hiding people under his floor, chills every time. It’s hard to nail facial expressions like that. Also, one thing to note in the beginning is that when he leaves the farmers house, Landa says “adieu” which is a final farewell in French, when you’ll never see someone again. But he says “au revoir” to Shoshanna, which means you’ll meet again.

I noticed that myself; at the beginning Col. Landa was so cheerfully sweet that butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. But as their conversation progressed, he got more menacing little by little. Finally, when he gave that cold-blooded whisper, "You are hiding enemies of the state, are you not?" that really showed the evil, psychopath soul underneath his likeability.

The Bear Jew was originally supposed to be played by Adam Sandler, but he was filming Funny People at the time. I would have LOVED to see that.

When you said that, all I pictured was Adam screaming "You think you're better than me?!" while swinging away like in Happy Gilmore.

Character Hugo Stiglitz name is taken from a real B movie mexican actor, Tarantino admires and has watch all his movies. Being a Mexican myself, that makes me feel proud.

One more thing: I know why the title misspelled "bastards" as "basterds.": in one brief, split-second scene when Brad Pitt picked up his rifle, on the rifle's wooden stock you can see he carved the words "inglorious basterds" because his character was a southern hillbilly so his spelling was a bit less than perfect. That's the secret joke of the title misspelling.
@TrackpadProductions
@TrackpadProductions 2 года назад
A funny little detail about that funny little detail is that it's actually inscribed in Tarantino's own handwriting, just like the opening logo. It comes from the title page of the original screenplay, which he drew himself.

This movie's fantastic. Obviously Hans Landa is a brilliant character but I honestly feel like Brad Pitt is underrated in this film. He's so damn entertaining, "arriverderchi!" Also, a great deal is when Landa encourages Shosana to wait for the cream he is testing/toying with her as it isn't Kosher and Jewish people aren't allowed to eat it.

P.S., you know what was brilliant about that opening scene? Col. Landa already knew that Jewish family was hiding under the floor and he knew that French farmer was the only one who spoke English. So the REAL reason he switched to English is so he could mind-f*ck the farmer without the Jewish family panicking and trying to escape. It's little mind games like that which elevated Landa's "villain status" to the level of Darth Vader and Hannibal Lecter.

I recommend Tarantino's first major movie, Reservoir Dogs. Because it has the best ensemble acting & dialogue I've ever seen in my life (and I'm probably twice as old as you). You'll see that Harvey Keitel should have gotten an Oscar for his Mr. White character. They all deserved Oscars; Keitel, Buscemi, Roth, Madsen, Tierney, Chris Penn. This is the movie in which the characters' conversations were more intense and exciting than any action scene. And despite taking place in a giant warehouse, the movie was surprisingly claustrophobic, due to its paranoid atmosphere.

The cream in the apple strudle scene is so messed up. Strudle pastry is made with beef fat and no dairy, by adding cream it takes the dish outsife of jewish dietary restrictions, apparently some senior SS officets used it as a Jewish test in WW2. He knew who she was (as proven when he ordered milk for her) and was just playing mind games. Incredible actor and character

Quintin almost didn't made this movie. He couldn't find an actor to play Landa and he believed he had written a character that couldn't be played. And litterally a few days before he ditched the project he met Waltz and let him audition. And instantly knew he found Landa.

Here's something to consider. The titles from these Tarrentino movies where taken from other titles that I think make them parts of trilogies or something. There was a western called Django before Django Unchained. There was Once Upon A Time In The West, and then Once Upon A Time In America before Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. There was also Once Upon A Time In Mexico, but that was the third part of Robert Rodriguez's Mariachi trilogy, that began with El Mariachi, and went on with Desperado. ( which is a trilogy you should check out.) And just about any Pam Grier movie like Foxy Brown or Coffy leads to Jackie Brown. All these are great. Have I left any out?
@billywilton-jordan7981
@billywilton-jordan7981 2 года назад
Oh yeah, almost forgot. The Hateful Eight, think The Magnificent Seven. 😀 or maybe even The Ridiculous 6 🤨. Now there's an uneven trilogy.
