Yaaaaaas. I so totally agree. That scene almost got me. Such a powerful expression of love. And something the world needs. More accepting parents.

agree with you 100, so sick of the lack of normalisation of sexual orientation and simply being human, it gives way to an ignorance and fetishization both of which are wrong and exhausting. BTW sorry to hear you were homeless when you came out Kerry, you are strong for going through that and still making people happy thru ur content, bless u

💯 I know that someday the normalization will become more common than those against it. We have come so far in the last decade but have so much further to go Queen. And thank you 💖 it was not an experience I'd like to repeat, but one that by having I'm able to understand and potentially help others where I was not. 😁

It's not that it isn't normal but when ur dad makes jokes and ur around people who are straight and haven't spoken about it, it doesn't seem normal and it's really scary

@@vloggingwithkerry Exactly! I'm bisexual and my uncles gay but my mum still makes homophobic comments and says she isn't. Thank god for all of us within our ages teaching younger people what is right and wrong. We're making progress ...I think, sometimes it's hard to tell tho

I only found out it was a book before the movie once I read the comments. It's nice to see movies like this on the mainstream. A good positive representation to an extent :)

Oh, are you in Vancouver? My husband and I lived there for 10 years up until 2020. Anyway, I pretty much agree with you on this movie. Like you, I think it touched on some important things and overall was OK, but I didn't exactly love it. And I'm with you on the final scene being cringey. And thank you for reminding people that everything is not just hunky-dory with LGBTQ rights. I run across too many straight "allies" and even too many younger gays who seem to think the work is done. Here in the States there is a huge backlash in some parts of the country and things are actually going backwards. And you're absolutely right, we have to keep our brothers and sisters in other, more repressive parts of the world in mind, too. There are currently 69 countries that still criminalize LGBTQ people to some degree or another. The fact of the matter is we are and always will be a minority of the population. That is why we have to come out and straight people don't--they are considered the default. That's why the work will never be completely done, and that's why we need Pride! Nobody has ever just given us our rights--we've always had to stand up and fight for them, and I believe we will always have to do so. It's very dangerous to become complacent. Well, I'll stop ranting now and just say how sorry I am that you had such a horrible coming out experience--as you say, it's more common that people think. With that said, I wish you a very Happy Pride!!! 🏳‍🌈🏳‍⚧

100% The work is not yet over. People forget how for example, Drag Queens were shocking as they graced our screens on Drag Race years ago. How people hated them and mocked them and then slowly over time learned to love them and then idolize them. And now we are in a place where people are trying to eradicate them. Putting them higher than gun violence as a danger to the world. We as a society keep going in a circle but it seems it has to in a way to remind people that we have a long way to go yet. I am proud that I can be in a common law relationship with my partner openly and know how privileged I am to be able to marry him. Where so many people out there, if they so much as hold hands, it could be their last day. I commonly hear from "allies" and non-allies alike. "We don't need Pride anymore". Ohh child, If you only knew how untrue that was. Conversion therapy is still a thing. In Canada alone. A bill was made in 2021 to protect those who are themselves. That was only 2 years ago! So I 100% agree with you. We are a minority we need to find out voice if we haven't already and join together and fight this oppression. We loose when we stop speaking and fighting for equality. Though my coming out was met with those trying to silence me. I can say that they lost. I never stopped fighting and will never stop. I wish you all the best, and the happiest of Prides. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💓💙🤎🖤

I love this movie. Thank you for the reaction. I'm a new subscriber and I love your videos so far. Keep up the good work. ❤ I remember when this movie first came out and I saw it with my brother in theaters..We both loved it. The friends were 100% trash in my opion. But other than that it's a good film. I really wanted to whoop the blackmailer's ass and I still HATE him! DON'T EVER OUT ANYONE! ITS NOT RIGHT! DON'T DO IT! I haven't read the books so I was SHOCKED and GAGGED at who Blue was. 😅😊 Anyways, this movie for me gets a solid 9.5 out of ten stars for me. PS, the straight "coming out" scene was so hilarious to me. 😂 And Jennifer Garner is SO good in this. She made me cry. 😔🥺 Anyways, thank you for the reaction. Have a good day! ❤

Yaaaaas! Welcome to the Vlogging with Kerry Family 💖 I did enjoy it and it was a decent movie for sure. I loved the direction it took and, more importantly, it was in theatres!. It's about time we get movies with representation in a positive way like this no matter how cringe the ending is. I agree about the friends. Their response to the situation. Regardless of how Simon acted, was terrible. However, that is a clear example of what some of the community has to deal with. People were unable to grasp how bad the situation was for him, even those who were closest to him. They were only able to make the situation about themselves. He was not only trapped but he was constantly emotionally and psychologically attacked on a daily basis for months. (as the seasons in the movie show) Let alone the movie had no conclusion to the clear illegal activity of the blackmailer. It falls under cyber bullying which could have had a terrible outcome for Simon. And I have to admit for a moment there, the way they were focusing on his brain and emotions shutting down I began to think this movie was going to go in a whole different direction. And yes, Jennifer Garner almost got me. She delivered those lines with such love and care as if they were her own in front of her. All in all I'm happy I watched this movie. Its Progress. 10 years ago this movie would have never been allowed on TV let alone in a theater. One step at a time. I'm so happy you enjoyed this video. Hope your days are lovely, wonderful and splendiferous Darling 😄
