He could play in it. He would be an A-level star (Patrick Ewing/Reggie Miller). He'd be on the same team for 15 years and be a small market's identity. Too good to trade, not good enough to win it all.

Bruh, Jordan was a 3 time all-star, defensive player of the year, MVP, Rookie of the Year and scored 63 points in a playoff game. All in the 3 years before Pippen was drafted. Don't disrespect the GOAT like that.

MJ definitely pushed Pippen to being a great player. I'm sure he got on Scottie every day in practice. I don't think Pippen would have been a great player if Seattle had never traded him to the Bulls on Draft Day 1987. A young Scottie Pippen with Seattle in the late 80s and early 90s may have gotten lost in the shuffle. Scottie should be grateful to MJ for helping him reach his NBA potential and winning 6 Championships.

Jordan would be who he is regardless of Pippen in terms of his playing skills, competitive mindset & killer instincts. Did he need another great player to get to the next level in terms of winning championships, yes he did. But Jordan pushed Pippen & the rest of the Bulls to be better than they were.

They better do their research before I hit ‘em with those receipts! I’m 63 and from Chicago. When Pippen came he was HORRIBLE! We used to call him the traveler because he used to travel so much🤣. It was Michael who took him under his wing and helped him be the player he was. So what the fanboys need to be saying is there would be no Pippen without Michael

I come from Germany and back then basketball was completely unknown. There were always a few names in the media. Bird, Magic. Then Jordan came along and people became fans and got up at night to watch games on TV channels that were only available in poor quality. His comeback was even big in the mainstream news. Every kid with a basketball had his tongue hanging out when he played.

I'm a huge Knicks fan from the 90s and I absolutely hated MJ back then. But you cannot deny MJs greatness; he proved it over and over. Physical ability meets Elite BBall IQ meets the iron will to win. When he 'retired' for 2 seasons people forgot. It was Hakeem, Reggie, Malone, Ewing, Barkley, Shaq, Payton. As soon as he returned everyone remembered how great he was, and he cemented his legacy.

when i was growing up, a kid in the 80s, my first major sports event i remember was the celtics lakers nba finals. My whole family, grand parents, uncles, cousins, aunts all gathered around a crappy little CRT with rabbit ears glued to the tv watching those two go at it in the 84 finals. A series that would go 7 games and i remember everyone watching it. It ignited a deep passion in me as a kid for all things sports, not just basketball, I would play tball then little league, then high school base ball, i would play basketball, until i stopped growing at just 6', and frankly i knew that was it for me (I was a varsity player though), I would play Ice Hockey and LeCross and Soccer and Football. eventually playing football in college. My passion for the NBA was the real deal though, and I actually didn't really like Jordan for the first few years of his carrier. I thought he was a selfish me first player who couldn't play team ball... but by the... 89 or 90 season that had changed and changed big time. Phil Jackson had got him to buy into the team first approach, he became much more efficient, he had polished his midrange and post game, even developed that fadeaway that was legit unguardable, and just elevated from "mortal bb superstar" to "demigod." No player has been able to reach that level in my eyes... oh some players could scrape at it for a season or playoff run... Kobe was a wonderful mini-me version of jordan (jordan lite) and frankly, that's a compliment, not an insult... he's the closest we've seen to jordan since jordan. I think i was all in on jordan during game 2 of his first finals series against the lakers... he want on a 10-0 streak of hit shots punctuated by the "move" and just ripped the soul out of the lakers. I was in awe of him in the 91 finals when he went 6-0 on threes in the first quarter of game 2 i think? i still remember being glued to that series; the 92 series against the suns was when i knew i was watching an all timer, and he had become must watch tv... I will never forget the 2nd 3 peat. I was never a bulls fan, Celtics my whole life (no one was a knicks fan in buffalo ny. lol, little known bit of trivia for you, the buffalo braves and celtics traded teams in the 1979 off season... well it was more complicated than that but it was weird to say the least with what was carrying the name of the braves going to san diego to become the clippers... before they moved to LA like the chargers... so most buffalo braves fans just became celtics fans.) but i was a jordan fan. and as i said, he was must watch tv every night.

As a kid during MJ's early years, he inspired me to play and I tried to pattern everything on his game; the fakes, the reverses, the turnarounds... of course I didn't have the height or athleticism, but I tried to have that strong competitive nature... but of course MJ was on another level again.

I knew he special from his college days to the end of his career. He transformed the game, and he took it to another level. In today's game with no hands check and him in is his prime. He would easily average 70 points per game. He had no flaws in his game, and had a killer instinct. He could shoot from any part of the floor if he wanted to at any given time. When they said he couldn't play defense he proved them wrong. When they said he the 3 pointer he proved them wrong. When they said he couldn t dribble the ball he proved them wrong. When they said he couldn't pass he proved them wrong. They said he couldn't rebound, and he proved them wrong. They said could shoot and score from any part of the floor. and he proved them wrong. Let me say he is the best, and LeBron could play until he's 65 years, and still can't come close to him. Summarize He did it all with class, style, grits, and didn't copy anybody game. Today everybody wants to be like Mike including me😂❤.

So I was born here in the US but moved to Mexico in 84, I got a little glimpse before leaving during the 84 Olympics but was too young to notice. But I'm 89 or so, while in Junior High in Mexico, we didn't get those games there, but my mother sent me "Come Fly with Me" on VHS. I watched that and immediately stopped playing soccer and got into basketball. Everything I did was trying to emulate Michael and that immediately made me the best player in my home town and the area. No one was ready for it. Obviously I am not MJ, don't have his size but I am athletic and was able to do a lot of the layips and reverse layups. Learned to drive to the basket with abandon and pull up on people for mid jumpers after driving hard . He is the one and only reason I played basketball 🏀

Physics and gravity tell you that Michael didn't stay in the air longer than everyone else. What made him different is that most people shoot on the way up. He could shoot either at the apex of his jump, or even on the way down, as the defender was also coming down.

@@Caesarz2010 a person with a 24 inch vertical versus a person with a 40 inch vertical only stays in the air a tiny fraction of a second longer than the other person. And as soon as i saw MJ i it was obvious he was special. If i ever saw that the bulls were on WGN i always tuned in and if it was the forth quarter i had to stay and watch...because early on the bulls sucked and were typically behind a lot, so if it was fourth quarter and the bulls were down you KNEW you were about to see something unbelievable.

My man, MJ was MJ long before Pippen showed up. Pippen was drafted in 1987 and proceeded to average 7.9 ppg off the bench. In that year alone, Jordan was the scoring champ at 37.1 ppg, MVP, DPOY, and all-star game MVP. By the time Pippen showed up, he had already been Rookie of the Year, 1st-team All-NBA twice, 2nd-team All-NBA (as a rookie), made 4 all-star teams, and was All-NBA Defense 1st-team once. He had also been scoring champion twice. Jordan's scoring numbers actually dropped after Pippen and Grant showed up.

Scottie was only a puppy MJ turned him in to that great that he was MJ Molded him to be great. Just like LeBron going to the Heat changed him to be greater and smarter then what he was.

At the 8 min mark where you said MJ was nothing without Pip, everything you saw before that point was without Pip. 3 scoring titles, MVP, ROTY, DPOY, multiple all time defensive team... Without Pip MJ is Luka. An AMAZING player, just ringless

I watched the game when he won the NCAA title for his University of North Carolina Tar Heels in 1982. I knew right then (along with a lot of other people) that he was going to be a basketball god.

The thing that’s funny to me about Jordan having pippen is that people forget that Jordan was dominating the league b4 pippen. Yes he couldn’t have won without pippen but Pipp was drafted he wasn’t a star coming in the league. He averaged 8 pts his first year 13pts year two while Jordan was averaging 33-37pts.. People making it a big deal like Jordan left the bulls to join forces pip was a young developed overtime great player. Jordan was playing against 4 5 6 HOF’s on one team. So it should be a credit to have a drafted teammate unlike niggas joining forces to win that’s a big difference….

He inspired me to play basketball thought I was good enough in middle school got cut last day of tryouts found out later that the coach had favorites. Was a good defender. I still remember when the farthest we could guard someone was 1 basketball length no one now plays defense you try and you get fouls really sad.

Jordan WAS THAT GUY without Pippen!!! Jordan brought Pip along the same way you see Jordan Bring Scott Burrell along in the Last Dance. Pippen, credit given to him, accepted the challenge and learned how to get better and expand his overall game in the early years with Chicago...dont let the haters today fool you Jordan was cooking teams in everyway before Pip got there...what Pips presence did was allow Jordan to have another skilled player he could depend on for the most part most nights. Lets not forget Pippens migraine that cost the Bulls the eastern conference finals the year before their first chip...and even during the last dance he was injured but did an admirable job as a decoy on the floor. Remember Jordan playing with the Wizards? He had no Pip and guess what...HE WAS STILL THAT GUY!!!

MJ WAS that guy before Pippen … Pippen sucked his first several years while MJ was getting scoring titles, steal titles and a DPOY award. Oh yea he also scored a record 63 on Larry’s HOF stacked Celtics in the playoffs before Pippen was an allstar - a record STILL held to this day! Now it DOES take some help to win championships bc this is a team sport. Pippen was that help MJ needed. Pippen wasn’t even an allstar in 91 when they won their first championship. But after that, Pippen was the only allstar in the same season MJ played with while winning 5 more titles, 6 Finals MVPS, no game 7s in the finals and Pippen didn’t help much in the 98 finals bc his back was shot. (Missed an entire game in that series bc of it) MJ was always the man since his rookie season. 🐐🐐🐐

The truth! He was the best player in the league before Phil and Scottie. After the very FIRST time Bird faced MJ in the NBA Larry told a Boston Globe reporter "That guy is going to be the greatest ever - you just watch." And in MJ's second season, after 86 playoffs Bird said "That was God disguised as Jordan." Before either Jackson or Pippen, Magic said "There's Jordan then there's everybody else."

OG from Chicago here. Let me clear things up; Jordan would STILL be Jordan bruh. He just wouldn't have as many rings without him. If we go with your philosophy, NO NBA PLAYER would be who they are without their sidekick(Kobe-Shaq? Stockton-Malone? Magic-Kareem?) It's a team sport. Wilt Chamberlain proved that no matter how dominant you are, you still need a supporting cast.

This my knocks on the jordan bron argument, why do none of the stars today do the dunk contest? The point that stuff???? They wonder why the all star weekend ain’t as big?!?!?! But that is one my things he never did any this he should have and really put his full talent on display!!!! Without the dunk contest there is no jumpman emblem!! Then there’s just the way they played, when you watch Jordan you know he’s trying to kill em, he’s trying to honestly make them rethink their life choices, sometimes it’s like bron don’t care. Then the biggest the rings are what matter not the stats!!! Does Brady hold all the records or the list rings??? And do you not say he’s the best??? Exactly Jordan’s the best I’m sorry
