Gotta do the whole set. They did 5 songs and the RU-vid video is about 15 mins. Worth a long reaction. Watch Freddie masterfully orchestrated the crowd
BTW, if watch the whole Queen Live Aid set: PLEASE look for a copy of the video that starts w two comedians dressed as policemen, introducing the band… That way, you’ll be sure to have a video of the COMPLETE set.🖖
Agree with others who have said you need to watch the whole thing. I was 13 when this concert happened and still remember how mesmerized I was watching it live. Freddy has that huge crowd in the palm of his hand the whole time.
It was one of the largest satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time; an estimated audience of 1.9 billion, in 150 nations, watched the live broadcast, nearly 40 percent of the world population.
Live Aid had different stages in different countries and was broadcast live on TV and radio. With a number of talented people. But Queen stole the show. Please do their entire performance. ☮️
Please react to the full set. Each contributing band was allowed only so much time on stage. When Queen was finished no one could figure out how they performed so many songs and so flawlessly. Please react to it. You will love it! Great reaction as always AB! ❤👏👍
Thank you. Live Aid was occurred simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London (72,000), and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia (89,484) people, an estimated audience of 1.9 billion, in 150 nations, watched the live broadcast, nearly 40 percent of the world population.
Freddie was really sick with a horrible throat infection. He didn’t drink anything but tea and honey for his throat. He wasn’t even supposed to sing at all. There are always different drinks on the piano in case he needs one.
Hey Hon, Just an IMPORTANT NOTE about Live Aid, if you decide to react to Queen's 20-minute set.... PLEASE be sure to choose a copy of the video that starts out with two "policemen" (they're comedians dressed as policemen) who are doing an introduction before Queen comes onstage!! (This is the EASIEST way to avoid a shortened copy of the Queen Live Aid video that's circulating on YT... That particular video is missing part of the climactic ending.)
This was a concert to raise funds for the famine in Africa. Many bands played that day but Queen stole the show. Also Freddie had a very bad throat infection that day and was advised by his doctor not to go on, but of course he went on anyway.
I agree with all the comments. Gotta see the whole set. Then maybe a side by side with the movie about Queen's version of the same set. While the movie itself got mixed reviews about authenticity, there is no disputing that the actor was flipping spot on. Gave me chills.
Please AB..... please...... do the whole 20 minute Queen Live Aid 1985 performance from beginning to end. Greatest 20 minutes of rock in history. Please please please...... it is 20 minutes of pure magic. Find the version where it starts with the 2 British comedians dressed as policeman...... followed by the 20 minute set...... then..... Freddie and Brian come back later and sing the last song of the entire concert. Every top musician in the world participated in this charity concert to aid the famine/drought in Africa. Not beer...... tea with lemon and honey to keep his throat comfortable...... This is in England. There was also a venue in Philadeophia and they took turns with acts alternating one after the other to allow the crews to change the sets. This was broadcast live around the world. It lasted for more than 12 hours..... I forget the exact length, but each band was alloted exactly 20 minutes and if they went over their microphones would be turned off. Watch the lights at the foot of the stage at the end of Queen's last song and you will see that Freddie signals to Roger, Brian and John that it is time to stop. He waves his arms as the band stops and the red light at the foot of the stage comes on. Queen practiced their set for a couple of weeks beforehand so that they had it perfected.......
You have to watch the whole thing to appreciate the greatness of this set & the transition between songs to get in as many as they could in their time slot
Live Aid was broadcasted over the world and artists from America and England performed for Africa. The Soundsman set the volume of the music louder when queen came to play and then they didnt just do a performance like the rest of the bands that played at live aid, but stole the whole show with an epic performance for about 20 min. Even artist in the back came back to stage to see what was happening on the stage and saw that freddy just stole the show from everybody. This set is been set as the best live perfomance of all time.
You have to watch the entire video. Find one that’s at LEAST 27 minutes in length. The video will begin with 2 comedians dress as “Bobbies” introducing Queen and will end with Freddie and Brian doing a solo song at 9:23 pm (I believe) the screen will go black after they finish the normal set and a “later that night” sign will roll on screen. Good luck and enjoy. Cheers
My Mom recently rented the movie Bohemian Rhapsody from her library and then called me all excited after she watched it to tell me I had to check out this band she found called Queen. 😂😂😂. I eff’n love my Mom and despite already knowing every song, I let her “introduce” me to the songs of Queen.
Like everyone else saying u gotta react to whole thing with queen¡!!! Ii totally missed Freddy control over crowd it's freaking awesome and yes it was on TV I was 15 and remember watching it
Hey Hon, The BEST live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody is at: Montreal in 1981 (They only did the beginning of the song at Live Aid, not the whole thing.)🖖
Freddy used to disguise Princess Diana as a man, gave her a mustache and a wig with a leather outfit to go clubbing in London. She was there in the wings at the time.
Queen weren’t very popular at the time (Freddy had ponsed off to do his own thing in a paddy) it was a big risk having them play first but their fans remembered them (so did all there kids!)
Hey there Mr Creater, the picture you have is from the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" not the real Queen. No beer, Freddie always had lemon and honey water for his voice, the beer is not for him.
