I think there is more to it, than Devaratha (Prabhas) being Shauryanga. I think there must be some sort of Supernatural angle involved with Deva (I mean we would love to see it too, if it comes out that Deva was born due to any sort of Supernatural intervention be it good or evil).

Little bit of cultural context : The goddess the ladies in red saree are praying to is Goddess Kali. She's one of the most terrifying avatars of Supreme Goddess Parvati, the wife of Shiva, one of the three supreme deities. In Hindu lore, humans Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons) could perform intense penance and be granted a boon from one of the 3 supreme deities (generally Shiva as he is known to be the most 'naive' to grant boons impartially even to demons). Thus certain demons turned out to be extremely powerful because of the boons they were granted (although immortality was off the table as it goes against the laws of nature, whatever is born has to die). One of the demons named Tarakasur asked for a boon that only Lord Shiva's son can kill him. Since Lord Shiva was eternally an ascetic, he thought himself immortal and eventually conquered all the different dimensions and ruled for a long time. Long time later, Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati (that is its own story) and had a son Kartikeya. Since childhood he was trained in the art of war by Lord Shiva himself and is considered the greatest warrior to ever exist. He then killed Tarakasur in battle. He supposedly fought with two swords and that is what is depicted in the fight scene later.

MOST HATE COMMENTS are because of recent box office clash with DUNKI (SHARUKH FILM) and it became a big controversy that salaar Hindi version has not given enough theatres...and salaar collected more than DUNKI ..

Glad you enjoyed it so much 😊 Prabhas has a new major movie coming up next month, *Kalki 2898 AD* , Kamal Haasan (who played Vikram) is also in it as well as some other major Indian actors you don't know yet 😊 The trailer hasn't dropped yet, only glimpses/teasers. The first glimpse was actually shown at Comic Con last year! About Salaar, Mason is totally right: these are the equivalent to US superhero movies, it's just not following the same presentation. India also has a few superhero movies in the traditional western sense, you might want to add to your list *Maaveeran* (on Prime) a 2023 Tamil hit, it has a lot of humour and super cool fights in a different, original style 🙂 (Please don't make us wait too long for the next Indian movie you guys have so much to discover and enjoy 😁)

I liked both Tamil and Telugu versions and saw this movie thrice in theatres in Chennai and not even a single time I felt a lag ! This is my adrenaline pump kinda movie and waiting eagerly for the second part. Music has been exceptional.
