Between comparing and correct each one has their style and they are both great, adding a point as you commented STZ does not want to be the same as BTS, they came to revolutionize world music and STZ comes to strengthen kpop ps: don't compare any group that increases hate between Fandoms
stray kids (8 members) in my opinion are the best kpop boy group. they self produce their own songs as well as write their own lyrics which is not common for kpop groups. normally kpop groups have certain positions for every member but stray kids are so versatile that they don’t even have positions. their choreographies are some of the hardest choreos in kpop. they’re extremely funny and are also extremely sincere. just be careful what you say when comparing groups because it does tend to upset the fans. personally it’s not a problem but it can be with others so just be aware. stray kids look up to BTS and highly respect them however they’re not trying to be the next BTS. they’re just themselves. they have pretty much done every genre of music in their songs and even talk about important topics (insomnia, the fear of growing up, depression, anxiety etc.) in some of their songs which not a lot of kpop groups do. also fun fact: Lee Know (guy with purple hair in Maniac) before he became a kpop idol, he was a backup dancer for BTS.
there is no issue with comparing groups, it's natural. BUT to say "it feels like they're trying to copy bts" after hearing one song is wild. stray kids write, and produce ALL of their own music. they have a very unique sound, and are definitely not trying to be bts. they get hate daily for their music being too "weird" or called just "noise music" but they stick to what makes them stray kids, being unique... they are definitely not trying to be BTS. there is so many boy groups, and ofc sometimes certain songs may sound alike, but that doesn't mean everyone is copying each other. i know what he said wasn't meant in a necessarily bad way but it doesn't come off nice. for more stray kids songs i recommend 3RACHA (the song is the 3 stray kids members who are responsible for writing and producing all of stray kids music, their unit name is 3RACHA so they named the song after themselves), heyday (also the 3RACHA members), freeze, charmer, easy, and miroh also fun fact, bangchan (leader of stray kids, guy with the blue hair in maniac) and jungkook are good friends!
also one could also say BTS is copying Bigbang in the fact that they write and produce their music. BTS wasn't the first to do it, and Straykids won't be the last. =} It's exciting when different groups can find their own style and sound.
Stray kids is an absolute trip to dig into with an incredibly diverse discography that has been written and produced by the various members. The leader is Bangchan (orange/red hair in Back door/ Thunderous and blue hair in Maniac), he and the two rappers (Changbin and Han) make up a subunit of producers called 3racha. Danceracha is Hyunjin, Felix and Lee Know. Vocalracha is Seungmin and I.N. Bangchan and Felix both grew up in Australia and are fluent in English. They don’t have expressedly ‘main rappers/dancers/etc’ because they are all incredibly talented in dancing, singing and whatnot. Originally, they were formed from a reality show of the same name where the original 9 members competed to convince the head of their company to let them debut together, and they debuted as 9. In 2019, one of the vocalists left for undisclosed reasons, so anything earlier in their discography will be with 9 members. As far as getting a taste of their dancing skills - they put out plenty of content, including dance practices which are a pleasure to watch. You should definitely look at Freeze, God’s Menu and Miroh. And once you watch Miroh’s m/v, watch the dance practice. Their pre debut time has an m/v Hellevator, and a couple performance videos of Grr and Spread my wings. Then they debuted in 2018 with District 9, with their first comeback of my pace. These boys are absolutely magnetic when on stage together and have some amazing chemistry as a group. They’ve been harshly criticized for exploring and experimenting with sounds in their music, but they don’t let that stop them from expressing what they want to and hiding meanings in their lyrics to comfort and sustain their fans (their fandom is called ‘Stay’.) They are also credited in pioneering a new subgenre of kpop called mala taste, taken from malatang (a spicy soup), that basically describes their music as spicy. It’s okay to compare them to BTS, as long as you don’t try to put one against the other and accept that they are different and forge their own paths forward in the industry. BTS has been around nearly a decade longer than SKZ and our kids are about the most supportive idols you can find in kpop - as Bangchan says in his lives (he goes live weekly) they paved the way for other groups.
guys please don’t compare groups its just disrespectful in my opinion. Ofc different groups will have subtle similarities but at the same time they all still have their own unique style. As you can already tell skz and bts have very different styles of music and even the style of their choreo is different, so comparing them just doesn’t make sense and plus ur just going to start silly fan wars. Hope u understand, we should try our best to love and respect different groups as they all work extremely hard.

Every K-pop group is different, and bts is obviously an inspiration for other groups but no one is trying to “be them”. It’s really upsetting to see things like this, it kind of discredits stray kids and other groups and all the hard work they put in to stand out in an insanely competitive industry, just to be told that they’re trying to be like bts.
So, because they are a group of guys singing in Korean they give you BTS vibes? There's absolutely nothing else about them that is like BTS, specially not in regard to "Back Door"... I think that it's important to realize what a Xenophobic comment is to make. That would be like if someone came to the US and kept telling you that every rock song they heard sounded Kiss, or every good dancer was Micheal Jackson. Try to put yourself in the shoes of these guys, you literally said their name when you introduced the video, and the second you saw a bunch of young Korean men on the screen, immediately asked if this was BTS even though you picked the videos. EVERYONE is always accusing them of wanting to take BTS place in the industry, yet nothing could be further from the truth. At this point, they don't even want to be associated with them professionally speaking because of their fandom trying to destroy them, or just the fact that the world thinks they couldn't possibly want to be anyone else, to reactors who think that BTS apparently started music, why else would every other group sound like them. Instead of the obvious truth, BTS is the only Korean music they have heard so far, and because this is Korean, it's "sounds like BTS" when in reality, BTS sounds like Korean Music and so do Stray Kids. Sorry, I don't want this message to sound harsh. But if there is one thing I have learned, being blunt is the only way people ever take you seriously.
There's no problem for me on comparing groups , they all are different, but people get really offended like....yo , there's a lot of groups cause people have different tastes so it's a personal opinion, people should accept that. Stray Kids is their own group and their own genre for sure. They are 4th generation KINGS. They produce their own music too. They are pretty rap heavy too if you keep looking into them. Yes they are from S. Korea. No, they are not related. NO THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO BE BTS lol.
I personally prefer SKZ over BTS, music wise. I experienced attending both their concerts, both are great groups and performers but dang SKZ energy is on whole another level.
Bang Chan is the Leader and he writes and produces their songs with the help of Han and Chanbin hisself. He holds the south korean record of 153 writen songs by a band member

BTS have for sure paved the way for other kpop groups/artists and i think everyone in the kpop industry admires them. Dancing and singing is a big part of kpop and (almost) every group you will react to will have vocalists, rappers and dancers. As for the MVS I think that every kpop MV is very well edited and most of them are very impressive because kpop is based on visuals. I dont think comparing groups is a bad thing(other people will get mad tho lmao) but every group definitely has differences and i dont think stray kids are trying to be some other group because they have their own personality that they put into their songs. Overall i really liked your reaction and i think as the time goes by you will get to know other groups too. (sorry if theres any spelling or grammar mistakes english isnt my first language LOL)

Their perf is so lit also BangChan is like one of the best best leader out there! IDK i feel stray kids and BTS have so much in common in some ways (both self producing, their music is so unique and different, both have crazy talented rappers and vocalist their voice is so unique, members are so close with each other, crazy amazing perf, best leaders, etc) maybe thats why I really can't resist skids. BTS and Stray Kids both have their own sound. Stray Kids are 100% self produced and write their own songs. In my opinion the best well rounded Kpop group. All 8 members excel in singing, dancing, and rapping. As well as the producing unit and song writing. No disrespect to BTS because they are also amazing and insanely talented but for me Stray Kids takes is it…
Stop comparing, incomparable things. That are 2 diff groups with diff taste music etc. Of course its up to the taste of each person the music of the groups. They do have their own style, it’s called Mala. Shortened from a really spicy menu called Malatang from China but their definition is, that their music is different than other from the 4th Gen. And yeah don’t say such things as „they’re trying to be BTS“ because they don’t. It’s like saying that every boy singer is trying to be like Justin Bieber but that’s not true or every rapper try’s to be like eminem or tupac. so please don’t say such things. Thank you for reacting to Stray Kids! It's okay to compare on first listen but being both a Stay and ARMY, I can safely say the two groups are insanely different! I don't ever partake in the ridiculous fan wars because both groups excel and succeed in their own ways, not to mention they are different generation groups so I always saw comparisons to be silly. But I see what you mean! Stray Kids and BTS both are very unique and extremely talented groups with a beautiful array of talent all throughout each member and beautiful melodies and experimental sounds. I would suggest trying to not compare as much because that's when different group fans will attack which is never fun😂but thank you so much for reacting! Don't compare groups. They are each their own individual units with their own individuals styles/takes. To categorically rank them on a scale of better/worse is disrespectful of the music and the artists. This is basic etiquette when reviewing any form of art - performance or otherwise.
Stray Kids are incredible…I am also a BTS fan. Stray Kids look up to BTS and are 4th generation, I think BTS is 3rd generation. Stray Kids are self-produced and really have their own style. Hope you check out more of their music! ❤

Stray Kids is my peronal favorite group, but i would definitely check out groups like ATEEZ and any of the NCT factions (Dream, U, 127, and WAYV)! I enjoyed your reaction. Most of the times people in k-pop groups are Korean but basically if you are any type of (usually i will admit it is usually south) asian you can be in the kpop industry. Felix and Bangchan from Stray Kids are both korean-australian.
I wasn't a stray kids fan til i took my niece to see them in Chicago last year and now im really into them and have high respect for them as performers. Personally not a fan of bts i like a few songs and thats ok as we all have our own preferences but please keep in mind that there are so many k artists out there that are absolutely amazing and while i understand that everyone references bts in kpop they are not the only group as many came before them SHINee for instance is still around and they debuted i believe in 2008 and are fab as a group as well as soloists. While i have an ultimate group who sadly will probably never tour again as a group i love many groups and soloists from different genres there is so much you need to experience imo to truely appropriate the kpop scene
Stray Kids are amazing. My personal favorite group is BTS. I've been slow to branch out as a fan of other groups. Stray Kids is definitely one of the groups I've been paying attention to more and more. I prefer groups that are involved in writing/composing/producing their own music. Stray Kids is one of those groups. Super talented artists.

Also guys honestly it's normal to compare groups especially when you're new to kpop! they'll know more through comments and when they dive deeper. Just know that every group is different in their own ways and it's OKAY to like one group (or one song) better than the other it's just up to your PREFERENCE to be honest! but yes unfortunately it might cause fan dispute because you are reactors, so just keep in mind to just be respectful. What I think is that when you start pitting Kpop groups & fans against each other asking about who will "win" you start losing viewers. Best you just view each group as its own...this would be advisable or your comment section will be something you'll want to avoid. Good luck!

Just something for the future. Try not to compare other groups to BTS, it can upset some people. BTS are the biggest group and there's no denying they are incredible and definitely opened doorways for other groups to get big globally. But Stray Kids are not trying to be like BTS, they are their own group with their own sound and concepts very different to BTS. They are both under the genre of "Kpop" but are very different. So just try remember if you do other groups in the future that for the most part, they are all different and have their own vibes. 😉
They’re not trying to be bts. Bts aren’t the creators of K-pop, and don’t own a style, skz are very original, and produce/write their own music, it’s best to avoid comparing them to other groups as they worked very hard.

It would be great if people would stop comparing every kpop band to BTS just because BTS is kind of all they know as they're number 1. Fans only get into stupid wars because of that. BTS and Stray Kids's only similitudes are that they are k-pop bands, and I dare say, excellence in k-pop. Oh and also they both have the strongest raplines. But apart from that, they're nothing alike. Their sound, their style, the way they produce their songs, or presents themselves, etc....
