By the way, that's the Universal back lot. Colonial Street. The same neighborhood from Desperate Housewives. Wisteria Lane. There's a lot of information if you look up the Universal Studios back lot.

The burbs is my favorite 80s comedy. I think it takes a few watches to really appreciate it. Infinitely quotable and just a relatable hilarious movie

This is one of the most underrated dark comedies ever. Any time I talk about it with someone who hasn't seen it I say "if you grew up in the suburbs, you'd have a house on your street where there were rumors weird shit was going on, so you and your 10 year old buddies would sneak over in the back yard at night to check it out. Of course, nothing was found." This is 3 grown men doing the same thing. Great thing is it gets better with age like a fine wine. Took me how many viewings before I realized Art puts the empty syrup bottle back in the fridge. And it's amazing Tom Hanks has the scene where he wakes up to Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and the ends up playing him in a movie about his life years later.

This is a great film, something of a cult film now, even though it didn't do too well at the box office back in 1989. It's grown on audiences over the years. Love the ensemble cast -- Hanks's comic chops were in full form, and Bruce Dern made me laugh just by how goofy he is: "Red Rover, Red Rover, send Ray on over!" You can definitely tell it was directed by the same guy who did Gremlins (Joe Dante).

Just wanted to point out that Corey Feldman's character totally ratted/lied on all of his friends for eating all of his food as a distraction for the police. 🤣
