First Time Watching THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA!! ~ it was “groundbreaking” ;) ~ *REACTION*

Its universally accepted that her boyfriend was crusty, and her friends, not that great. Like is she not supposed to take her job as a personal assistant seriously....

The effect this movie has had socially is interesting. Meryl Streep has said a lot of young people have spoken to her about her character and how it influenced them in their career's. Especially men, which surprised her. Adrian Grenier who played Nate said in retrospect that the boyfriend and the friends were terrible to Andrea. But the one who has been effected by the most is who the story is about, Anna Wintour the chief editor of American Vogue. The book that influenced this movie was written by one of past assistance. Once the book became a best seller, then the movie became a cultural event. While Wintour could have denied how she is, but she embraced it. Doing a documentary (''The September Issue''), going on TV talk shows, being more public with her MET Gala work, and even doing a RU-vid interview with Meryl. So essentially the Iron Lady of Fashion thrived after the film came out and which would have killed most.

Half the reason I watch Brad is so I can see his large assortment of super tight tops and t-shirts

The opening scene of this movie is werdly very comfy to me Idk why lol. When I first saw this movie as a kid I remember my dad being annoyed all the time at her boyfriend and in the end when they meet at the cafe he was like "Nah eff this idiot!".😅

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favorite films. It's iconic, so many memorable lines. "By all means mooove at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me" is one of my favorite lines. For me this is one the rare cases where the movie is way better than the book it's based off of. You 100% should watch Mean Girls. In my opinion it's just as much of a classic as The Devil Wears Prada is.

as a straight man in a tough buisness this movie has been one of my favorites since its inception. it shows how hard some people have to work to still never be happy. this movie shows how you should never ever judge a book by its cover.

Mean Girls would be fun, but one of the big inspirations of it, Heathers, would be even better to see you react to! Plus you'd get to see Winona Ryder as a teenager

The general consensus is that the ACTUAL villains in the movie are her boyfriend and friends who are quite toxic!

I have always loved the Devil loves Prada and saw Miranda as a woman who wanted to help Andy not be mean but become her own person. Miranda knows first hand just how cruel the fashion world is for women and wanted to teach Andy HOW to create her own path and find a perfect balance between work and home life without losing herself along the way.

Love this movie so much! The savagery of Miranda and Emily give me life whenever I watch this 😌 lol

This is the movie I watch when I feel stressed with my work, one sentence I remember so clear is “when you feel your life is ruined, it means you gonna have a promotion”. And I did disagree with you but now I agree, she is supposed to take the job seriously even she won’t always be in the job, so she could build her career up and achieve her dream as a journalist, she is smart and tough inside , but her friends and bf don’t even understand her and support her, it’s so bad they think she is falling to the dark side when there is not but only responsibility and royalty to work. I think that’s why people see the best time for being in a relationship is when you feel settled down.

For me the end would've been way better if she end up alone, for me her boyfriend really pissed me off, normally when a person is starting to building a career is never easy, we have to overwork, and getting paid a little, at least in her job she was getting money and traveling. So really bother me when he wasnt understanding with her, if it was he in that situation he wouldn't like if she got mad at him. So for me it really came out like he didn't care because it was her career, he doesn't think her job is as value. This kinda reminds me Ross and Rachel first break up.

There have been video essays highlighting the faults/toxic behavior from the unsupportive boyfriend/friends. The first time seeing it, I did agree that he and her friends overreacted. She should have stuck to her ground and explain herself, but not validating his needy whining about her job. I’m sure his job might leave little room for her, but I suppose when it affects his free time, and her friends’ inability to hear her out or even support her. Toxicity all around, but it is a fun film. Meryl F-ing Streep! Effortless sass.

Florals? In spring? Groundbreaking. Loved the video. Also I agree with you that people in her life should have been more supportive. They´ve seen her strugle and how it effected her to not do well at the job in the beggining. They should have been relieved and happy for her, that she found her way there. Also of course it changes her, she has to be in a mind set of current fashion trends and it helps her to wear different clothes than she used to. Why should she change it again for when she is with her boyfriend, so that he doesn´t feel like she´s different. But I get that not managing her time better, so that she could be there for him was a valid reason to be upset. The friends though were just ridiculus.
