It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, what kind of music you like or don't like. Everybody loves the opera scene. Also, Chris Tucker was the most underrated Scream Queen of the '90s.

You’re 100% correct. I used to use that scene to test and show off my audio and video setup on my home theater. The vocal feats performed in that opera are supposedly impossible for a real human to actually sing. There are videos on RU-vid of people trying…famous professional singers…and they come close, but no one quite does it exactly.
@TheDeadStretch
@TheDeadStretch 10 месяцев назад
@@BDogg2023 It's not impossible and is in fact a real Opera song called "The aria "Il dolce suono" from the opera "Lucia di Lammermoor"" by composer Gaetano Donizetti in Italian. During recording/filming of t he movie it was performed behind the scenes by the opera singer Inva Mula. On The Fifth Elemt OST the song is called "Diva Dance" or something like that I believe.
@BDogg2023
@BDogg2023 10 месяцев назад
@@TheDeadStretch *Ahem*… I will refer you to the words of the composer himself. From an article entitled “The Fifth Element Diva Song Was Literally Impossible to Sing Until Now” Remember Diva Plavalaguna from The Fifth Element? Remember how amazing her voice was, not to mention her range? There’s actually a story behind the song because it isn’t 100% what it seems. While much of the song is sung by a real opera singer there are actually notes in there that human beings can’t actually reach. This is a story told by Eric Serra Eric Serra tells about the notorious diva scene played by his girlfriend at the time Maïwenn, and of which he composed the music. “In that scene Maïwenn plays the diva but the voice is not hers, it is the one of a true opera singer, the Albanian Inva Mula. When the scene is shot she is a young talented soprano, yet her agent was Maria Callas’ one too, showing, if need to be, that she was already a promising artist. Today she is in the world’s top ten sopranos. For the scene to work, we needed her to sound like an alien, thereforee we had to create notes that no human could sing. So I purposely wrote un-singable things, some too low, some too high, sentences that were too fast, I would then arrange it with the sampler.” Like I said…they come close. Very close. But not exact. Thanks for playing.

As a reactor, you'll love this: Bruce Willis' reaction in the opera scene was a genuine reaction. None of the actors in the audience knew what was going to be on stage when the curtains came up,. The director (Luc Besson) has done this in a few of his movies, where the primary actors know there's a surprise coming, but they don't know what it will be. It really heightens the scene for me, seeing the dumbstruck awe, and standing ovation from Bruce Willis, both in and out of character.

You have a fun, clever script with just enough depth to get you invested, a talented cast of actors that are at the top of their game, insane levels of worldbuilding for such a contained story and amazing set and costume design that has made this movie age suprisingly well in terms of visuals This is one of those movies that I'm honestly glad never got a sequel, because its honestly perfect as is.

All of the notes are sung. The thing that makes her sound alien is how they edited it together simply bc there are sentences/phrases that are simply too fast to be sung together, to get to point A to point B. But not the actual notes. So the splicing you hear is that but every note was sung. You can also find some amazing live versions of it by other opera singers. You can hear the difference, sure, but its all just enhanced real vocals. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kJl2uPNsJEk.html&pp=ygUcaW52YSBtdWxhIGZpZnRoIGVsZW1lbnQgbGl2ZQ%3D%3D

I was lucky enough to catch the 25th anniversary in theaters last year. Never got to back in Fifth Elementary School Year. That old priest is Ian Holm aka old Bilbo from Lord Of The Rings and Ash from Alien. So many good cast members in this film. The general is from Blade Runner and this was his last film. Absolutely love Eric Serra's flawless score. One of my favorite movies of all time!

I remember when i went to a "sneak preview" with my friends nearly every weekend, not sure if that is a thing everywhere, but in germany some cinema theaters give you the opportunity to see movies weeks before the official start, you pay a bit more and you do not know what kind of movie you will see, in some cases we left after 5 minutes because the movie was crap, but in this case we stayed and we all loved the movie, the best moment was when corben had to "activate" her and the whole audience nearly simultaneously started to shout: "common, say that you love her", and after he did ppl went "finally, aaaaaaw!"

This is the VERY first live action movie that wasn't a cartoon that I paid attention to and enjoyed. It's an absolute masterpiece and I recommend it to everyone. The Arabic song played in the cab chase was my VERY first experience with such music! I loved it immediately! Gary Oldman always does such a wonderful job and I absolutely love his role as Zorg! Chris Tucker absolutely killed his role as Ruby Rhod! XD Just letting you know, the actors had NO IDEA what opera they were in store for. That's their genuine reaction to the show.

One of the most entertaining movies ever made... It's a classic. With one really weird thing in it... The main protagonist and antagonist never face each other. Korben never meets Zorg, let alone face off with each other which would be the typical end movie boss fight. The movie is so brilliant that you don't even notice little things like this. I certainly never did until someone pointed it out to me...

40:30 So, here's a thing you can do when you first go into a hotel room. Unless it's an absolute dive, there should be a plaque inside the door that shows you the room you're in and the nearest fire exits. There should also be a list of tips on what to do if you can't get to those exit stairs, like if there's a fire right outside of your room. I know when you're in a hotel, the last thing you want to think about is evacuation plans, you usually have plenty of other things on your mind. But it only takes a minute to look to see where those nearest staircases are so you have it in the back of your mind.

Damn, Leo, you are still the best. I’ve always loved your reactions. I really miss recommending music videos for you when you reacted to songs. I’m the dude that recommended Blue Monday, Cab Calloway and the Nicholas Brothers, a couple of Elvis songs, the two Offspring songs “Why Don’t You Get A Job” and “Pretty Fly For a White Guy.” I even told you about Whigas. Anyway, I love the Fifth Element. One of my all time favorite Sci-Fi flicks and one of my favorites overall. You know how Chris Tucker keeps screaming “Korben, Korben?” Well, I borrowed that at home when the Lakers dominated in the 90s and whenever Kobe Bryant did something amazing in crucial times (almost always), I used to scream out loud: “Kobe, Kobe!” in a high voice just like Chris Tucker screamed “Korben, Korben!” Shaquille O’Neal used to get a deep “Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq!” Anyways, I love all your reactions. I love you, brother. You the man, big homie. I would recommend some great movies you haven’t reacted to yet, that I know you would love, but everyone else is doing a great job already recommending some great ones for you. Keep up the great work. Peace and love, dude.
