First Time Watching The Last Of Us Episode 4 *Please Hold To My Hand*

The trauma of Ellie having to defend Joel from an attacker to learning the attacker had a mom and a name and was crying like kid, made great character moment for both of them.

One detail I never noticed my first watch is how PANICKED Joel is after crashing the car, the way he looks at Ellie and asks if she's hurt before they get out you can tell Joel's inner monologue is flashing back to when Sarah hurt her ankle in the car crash in episode 1 😭

I always liked the way in the previous episode Joel was insistent on them keeping their personal histories to themselves but he’s soon opening up and telling Ellie about Tommy and then hinting at his dark past, he can’t help but open up, he’s a dad and always will be.

The casting is so spot on in this show! Hope you brought tissues for the next one.

If prepared and preserved correctly, canned food lasts forever. The food inside is gonna lose taste and nutrients but it's going to be perfectly safe to eat even decades after it has been canned. They actually found some 100 and odd years old canned corn, gave it to scientists who opened it and found it was still perfectly edible. As long as the can is intact and it doesn't show signs of corrosion, puncturing or bulging at the seams, it means the food inside is still in a vacuum, so, still safe.

0:45 Your nose laughed before you did. x) The show is actually and unfortunately a little light on their bonding, due to the short length of the season & episodes. The game has way more moments like that, especially if you catch all the optional dialogs, which can sometimes be easy to miss. In the end there, Joel didn't just turn around on his wrong side during the sleep, but he also stayed awake the night before this, so he was extra tired. A bit of caution btw. Using only one in ear piece means you might end up missing out on directional stereo sound that's only on one side. An example is the infected in the basement in the previous episode, which let's out a sound that startles Ellie, but it's only really audible on one side. I think the right one for you in this particular case, but if you were wearing the other side you would've missed it.

No problem, just post as soon as you can. This episode did such a great job of building the relationship between Joel and Ellie. You can see that as much as Joel has tried to suppress his dad side after losing Sarah, being around Ellie is bringing it back out in him. You can also see Ellie hasn't had any parents, so she's using humor to try to get Joel to like her because that's probably what she did in the Boston QZ Fedra school to make friends. Joel is responding to the humor because Sarah used to tease him too, and Ellie is responding to the fact that she can count on Joel to protect her. Ellie said it wasn't her first time shooting someone, and it WILL come up again later, but you can tell it was pretty traumatic by how she froze up after shooting Brian - almost like she was remembering the other time and comparing them in her head. She seemed pretty shaken by Brian pleading for them to stop and help him, so it's a safe bet that whoever she shot before didn't do that. The Fedra school really kept Ellie sheltered from the reality of life outside the walls, and unfortunately, our girl has a lot of hard truths to learn in order to survive... and as skilled as Joel is, he can't protect her from everything, as much as he might want to.
