My heart goes out to those affected by the Key Bridge collapse. It's simply horrible.

For the record, when I go on tangents about most things: I DON’T KNOW SHIT ABOUT FUCK. It’s all conjecture. The fun of this is starting a dialogue/discourse. And, to quote Thomas Shelby, " 'Everyone's a whore. We just sell different parts of ourselves."

The tangents are what I'm here for man, for exactly the reasons you said. I'd hate for you to keep quiet for fear of being "wrong". Keep up the good work. (:

Absolutely... To actually hear someone speak intelligently about the themes in this show and be on the money for the vast majority of it during a first time watch is very refreshing, impressive and enjoyable.

Yes, people say that season 2 is slow and that it takes so long for the detail unit to reassemble but it's done realistically, it's earned. You can't get a band back together easily, people move on, different ideas and priorities, it makes sense it takes time and for other factors to come into play to get the detail unit reformed.

Crazy time to be watching Season 2 with the Key Bridge collapse that happened today, literally right at the port of Baltimore. It's in about 100 shots from this season.

The actor playing Clay Davis was Henry Hill doctor in the movie Goodfellas.

Glad to see you're enjoying Season 2 so much. Most people find the beginning of Season 2 to be very slow but I've never personally felt this way. Aside from the investigation aspect of the season I found the main storylines to move faster compared to Season 1. Clay Davis is quite the character and human being indeed. Just keep in mind how much Frank has been paying Clay and why Imma leave it at that. I'm really looking forward to what you think of all these characters and the show itself by the end of the season!

It's funny but I like that Valchek actually seems to like Prez. One of those dads that makes you call him dad when you get involved with his daughter. He wants what's best for his daughter but at the same time made him family with all the benefits that comes along with that.
@monadreher2428
@monadreher2428 6 месяцев назад
Uh...Idk about all that. More so on the liking Prez part. Valchek tolerates Prez because of the fact that that's who his daughter chose to marry and that's the sole reason he watches out for him.

Does the idea of unidentified victims being used for medical research and then a grave in a potter's field bother McNulty? Hell yes. He's a person who is capable of great empathy, we see this right in the first episode when interviewing someone about "Snot Boogie", he constructs a hypothetical about how one day Snot might have been given his nickname, how he doesn't have a tissue so some arsehole calls him "Snot". The McNulty is pretty sensitive, under the callouses usual to LEOs especially those working jobs like Homicide. I'd go so far as to suggest most of the Homicide cops have something that must motivate them to work such cases. Money isn't enough to deal with that sort of job, it can be an intellectual drive to figure out stuff or a empathic motivation to solve cases for the peace of mind of the victim's families, but all the good Homicide cops have something that's driving them beyond the money.

McNulty is such a good detective but just a horrible husband. I like it when we see him hammer it down that he wants to get that girl a name, not just let her be a jane doe. She was some ones daughter, she was a person who meant something where she came from. McNulty wants to do right for her.

Fun fact about Landsman: Jay Landsman is a real Baltimore Homicide Sergeant who auditioned to play himself on The Wire. He lost the role of himself to the actor you see and instead was cast as Lieutenant Meilo.
@alexmckee4683
@alexmckee4683 6 месяцев назад
It amuses me that he was not considered Jay Landsman enough to play Jay Landsman. Plus in addition to The Wire's "Jay Landsman" and "Lt. Meilo" we also get Homicide: Life on the Street's "John Munch" who was based on the real Jay Landsman and who ends up as a character seen in 10 TV shows across 5 networks. Has any other contemporary real life person had so many characters based on them?

I'm not working this whole week. It sucks. I have no idea if i'm gonna work next monday. And i need dental work for months. Yeah the anxiety of not knowing if i can pay my bills is, well, a lot. And I have a doctorate degree (thus not an education issue) and work for a perfectly solid major firm. It's just not salary or benfits. They just don't pay enough to get by these days. Well sob story over. Job hunting this weekend.

Talking of moving for work... There is an all time cult classic TV show in the UK called Auf Wiedersehen Pet, about builders who leave the recession hit UK in the 80s to work in Germany. It's very funny and also very poignant.. can recommend it as a very left field reaction option.. Oh and great video as always.

Came back here to mention that this random stranger decided to take the advice of another random fan of The Wire and started watching AWP yesterday. I just finished the third episode and am impressed. Thanks for mentioning it.

@@TonyGonzales haha, that's amazing.. I rewatch both shows once a year. AWP is pretty niche if you aren't from the UK and of a certain age. Season 2 is actually better than season 1 imo. Enioy
