It's almost criminal you guys didn't appreciate the first clip. That was a masterclass against the most staked team ever, maybe the best individual performance ever.
It was lacking context, it was his last tournament ever after that he retired, many people said he was out of shape or a lil bit old for the world cup, and also when you read the word humillates... you expect other thing.
Zizou was like a composer he made everyone play around him whilst making football look like a dance & always delivered on the biggest stages unless you insulted his family of course , for me he’s my fave of all time.
100% agree. An artist. And easily the classiest players of all time who ALWAYS pretty much controlled the game on the world's top stages. Without the headbutt that would have been another title. The real GOAT if one knows the game. At worst the Top 3 of all time.
Zidane's strength was Ibrahimovic said. "When he stepped on the field, everyone else on his team gets better" He was the brains and leader. Hard to capture in highlights.
A player that relieves stress from his team because he turns almost every 50/50 into a 80/20 is priceless. The attackers don't have to be scared to go forward, the defensers don't have to stay behind, etc
@@michaelangelo5580zidane is the nightmare of Brazilians, he always owned them in WC games. I’m french, married to a brazilian woman, and I can tell you: when I travel there, and we discuss football, they always have the most utmost respect for him.
@@ericsicard910 I never said he wasn't or was. All I said was the Ronaldinho washed him in the Clasico a few months back. Brazil in the 2006 was out of shape. Brazil didn't shine in any of the games. They barely beat Croatia 1-0, Australia 2-0 at the very end. And Ghana played better than them. An out of shape Brazil barely lost 1-0 to France and it was because a major mistake. The man that was guarding Henry, bent over to tie his shoes right when Zidane cross the ball. An in shape Brazil wouldn't have beaten. But should've, would've could've. What it is fact, is that Brazil barely lost 1-0 by a rookie mistake and also that Ronaldinho washed Zidane and the whole Real Madrid squad
You should watch Ronaldo fenómeno from Brazil, The best number 9 of all time. He played for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan and AC Milan and people never hated him because he was too good😭
He might not be the most decorated or flashy football player, but for me, he's the GOAT. He represents everything beautiful about this sport while being one of the most humble 'superstar'.
well, Zidane did put France in the map of football cuz before him, France had never won the world cup. But I wouldn't call him the GOAT, your opinion is respected though
@@michaelangelo5580 he is the goat for me and will always be cuz he is the one who made me love football. I never knew football could be so beautiful untill i saw what he did to brazil.
Nice you guys reacted to him. Remember guys, there are different positions in soccer like there are in every sport. Soccer is also a game of strategy. 11 vs 11 on the field. I think you guys would have more fun watching these if you understood the players role on the field that you're watching, it might provide more insight. Zidane was a midfielder so his main role was to be a facilitator and create openings+provide passes. They must have great field awareness and field positioning that's why for these guys you'll see them pass more in their videos
I've been waiting for a Zidane reaction i have requested it a few times. "Zizou" was such a magician with a ball. One of the most naturally gifted players ever. He won the world cup and the champions league as a player and won multiple league titles and Cups with 2 different teams and also with the French national team. He then retired and went on to manage (coach) Real Madrid with Christiano Ronaldo as his star player and won 3 champions League titles back to back and won multiple league titles and other cups. Absolute Legend on and off the pitch.
The thing about Zidane, that sets him apart from most other skilful players, is he’s a unit. 6 foot 2, strong, good in the air and both feet. A complete player and a joy to watch.
The 2 goals against Brasil was in the 1998 World Cup final in France where they won 3-0. This game you guys saw was in the 2006 World Cup in Germany where France reached the final against Italy. He scored a PK but was ejected due to headbutting a player. Italy won in PK shootouts. Yall should check that out too. This era was class. Great content guys!
Zidane was all elegance. You guys must check his epic goal in the champions league 2001/02 final mach. It's the most beautiful goal ever scored in this competition till this day. Keep it up guys! ✌🏽🇧🇷
quite a few legends in football think he is the greatest player of all time, in any case he is top 10 without a doubt. one of the most impressive things is his control of the ball for his size
I've been lucky enough to see many great players in the flesh, such as Messi, both Ronaldo's,Ronaldinho, Zlatan, etc. But Zidane tops the lot. His goal at Hampden in the European final, and his over the shoulder touch and control, then change of direction against Portugal are just next level skill. Always looked like he had way more time on the ball than anyone else, no matter where he had it.
Something people not playing soccer will not understand : you do not simply do a drop shot (first touch) like Zidane ; the way he changes direction with some quick pass is just insane ^^.
To get an understanding, one of the most important thing in football is the first touch. Zizou was king of ball control, and was always looking to play forward and make the team progress. Pure efficiency and big goals on big games. Got the Jordan vibe if you compare to basketball: )
He is probably the greatest pure number 10 of all time. His way of dribbling but also to see his partner everywhere and deliver great ball was beautiful.
Zidane is like Luka you think because he’s slow you can take the ball away from him but sorry man u can’t! And he’s definitely Top 10 of all time! The most elegant player of all time! Him and David Beckham from England. And keep going guys I love your reactions, I’m from Angola, Africa we don’t even talk English in my country 😅
David Beckham is not in the same stratosphere as Zidane. Really good player, great passer and had a real knack for free-kicks, but I wouldn't put Beckham in the top 50 tbh. He became more famous for things outside the pitch (being a model, marketing machine, marrying a spice girl and so on) than on the pitch.
You guys need to check out Eric Cantona. He was one of the most arrogant strikers in the history of the sport. He was a Frenchman playing for Manchester United in the 90s. Absolute beast. Got suspended for doing a flying kick to a fan behind the goal in a game. He has my all time favorite reaction to a goal. He scores and just sort of looks at the crowd just soaking in the cheers. The combination of power and finesse was incredible.
As a french algerian it's so COOL to see you guys react to his coolest moment. He is one wonderful human and a great player. Some say he's one of the world's best coach too (idk enough about football to get the sport tbh....) But here in France? He's a NATIONAL TREASURE
There is a documentary called Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait. Instead of the standard film tracking his career etc, the film follows his every move in a match between Real Madrid and Villarreal, while he talks about his life and career in the background. Watching how he plays a regular game is really fascinating, and the soundtrack is beautiful.
Zidanes career might not have been as long as Ronaldos or Messis, but when he played he was the best player on the pitch in all his important games. He made the difference in so many games, and you couldn't take him out of the game like it sometimes happened to Ronaldo & Messi by good defenders. He is also very accomplished: Winner of: World Cup 1998, European Cup 2000, Champions League 2002 and 3 times FIFA World Player of the Year I think in his prime he was, and still is unmatched.
to understand Zidane you have to understand the most difficult thing in football is the first touch. Controlling the ball when it comes to you. Good player use that first touch to create an advantage not only to control the ball. Legends like Zidane don't control the ball, they are mastering time
He humilliated a brazil full of stars back then.. it's true most of them were almost at the end of their prime but still.. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaká, Dida, Gilberto Silva.. He did a top notch game against those beasts
Lads let me tell you something straight : Zidane ain’t Top 10, He is arguably Top 5 . He played against the best and makes them dance…This man don’t play with the ball, he has a relationship with it. I’m french, he’s not my fav player but if I’m honest he’s (by far) the best midfielder I’ve ever seen.
You guys should find a pitch and a ball to try some of the moves, shots, crosses, controls you've seen on soccer videos and maybe even make a video/vlog out of it. I'm sure it'll be very entertaining to watch! and you'll then have a better grasp of the things you are actually watching when reacting to soccer. Controling a ball coming from accross the pitch might appear easy when done by gfted technicians like Zidane but it's one of the most difficult things to do in football. Anyway thanks for your genuine and entertaining reactions.
glad you start with Zidane vs Bresil 2006. It was the best match of his career. Everybody was chocked, the brasil couldnt touch the ball, there were only one star on the field. Zidane, he was an old man and he humilitated brazil like a monday. Even if i am french, his prestation is top notch of the football game even today, Zidane is a legend of the 20century
Pele, Messi and Diego play similar style of football or even some great midfielders. But Zidane is different. His ball control, passes, and taming his team is just brilliant. I have not seen any player like him. His just elegant, he dances in slow motion on the pitch. King Zizou the Maestro of football.
I think its time for you to check out Ronaldo Nazario "O fenomeno" guys. If you ask me, he is the best striker ever existed and arguably in the top 5 ever for sure. He is unbeliable. The perfect striker. Even after the heavy injuries he suffered he was still something else. And he played with Zidane in the Real Madrid (with another amazing talents like Roberto Carlos) so imagine how good that team was. Seriously, watch him, he is going to blow your minds.
This guy's footwork, demeanour, success, aura....is like if you took Joe Namath/Babe Ruth/Jayz/Jordan/Phil Jackson/Vince Lomabardi/MikeTyson and made 1 person out of them. In the first video "humiliating brazil" it was the Zidane show, he was old it was his final tournament, it was what was Maestro gonna do with the ball he pulled the strings against a stacked Brazilian team with legendary players like Ronaldo Ronaldinho and Kaka. He scored CL final and World cup final goals he turns up in the finals. He was also flawed and had temper to headbutt players whether it was regular game or the world cup final in fact he did it in the world cup final but he did it out of principle because an Italian player insulted his sister in derogatory way to get under his skin, heck some would argue that his performance in that tournament, him vs Brazil and that headbutt as his final act before he was ejected and him walking past the world cup with his head down as his final act as professional player was more memorable than Italy winning the tournament. He is the only coach to 3peat the Champions League final wins like Vince Lombardi with the most decorated prestige's team in the Champions League, Real Madrid coaching the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo but he was world class as player himself thus commanded respect from superstar team and he also scored the most elegant Champions League final goal with Real Madrid, he was also the most expensive player Real brought at the time and he delivered a championship in the most spectacular way so he is a living legend in the sport because not many are successful as player and as coach. In fact he only managed only the senior Real Madrid, he just walked into that job because of his clout but it worked out he has 5x Champions league medals with Real, as player 1x, assistant coach 1x, and 3peat as the head coach, the guy is currently out of work but I promise you any team would hire him and role out the red carpet for him, players will fall in line in training with him partaking in training as player and they will go to war for him.
He came out of retirement at this stage to beat the best and prime Brazil squad who were favourites with dihno,Ronaldo,rivaldo,robihno,kaaka....the prime Zidane was undoubtedly a beast with classy signature moves and elegance,he was strong and unbeatable...He is my GOAT of football.Zidane never needed the ball, the ball needed Zidane.
Great video guys. He is truly one of the greats. A Maestro of Orchestra if you will. Thats the role of the number 10 or attacking midfielder. He’s holding the strings, the rest of them were just puppets
Incredible player, technical strength and right "badness" if you did not know how to get out of uncomfortable situations ball to him and was safe ready to do something brilliant.
I think you don’t get how hard it is to do the simple things in football his first touch is always immaculate imagine having that kind of control of a football you touch it it goes exactly where you want that’s what makes ZIZOU top 5 for me he’s such a brilliant footballer
Yes the best attacking midfielder to lace the boots, played the game in my 40tyrs he had that feel for the game, like we say bout bird, magic, mj he was a magician on the ball thank you for appreciating the game we call football, total beast on the pitch, may look small in your eyes, we built like army rangers
I still remember the game quite well. World cup 2006 in Germany. 😉 You have to watch it all the way through to experience the goosebumps. Zidane was rather defensive until the end. He always left the finishing to one of his teammates... Ronaldinho was unable to get the Ball because almost every other French player was coveringen him. Zidane played it pretty chill till he was instructed to put the pressure on and score himself. He was always such a good teamolayer and rather pass the ball to ome of his teammates before scoring himself. A true Gentleman !! Unless you call his sister a Bitch😅!! Soccer is a marathon. Not a sprint!!! What Americans often can't comprehend is the distance and the kilometers run per game! In contrast, American football with its eternal breaks, or baseball is not such an endurance sport 🙂
Wonderful player,a legend of his time,he was one of the best,he wasn't an attacker or a goaler like Ronaldo but he was the best passer of his generation, calm and collected, providing opportunities countless of times....Zidane roles was to pass the ball, he was the one who coordinated the play ,often thise players aren't as popular the ones who scores but Zidane was an amazing player that why he was that popular.
The thing with Zidane is he had NO quickness or speed. Ronaldo, Henry, Messi, Maradona, all these guys you’ve been watching have been like the quickest players in the game. Zidane had ZERO pace. Nada. He did it ALL with sauce, skill and chess moves. And still the best in the world many of the years he played.
Also for any budding young footballers in the future that might read this it’s always best to play loose… relaxed let your game flow…. Sometimes when ur ultra focused as you see in this game your a bit tight… but in a game if this magnitude when u MUST grab the game you MUST stay focused and so you see that in his early misses a bit tight in his flow… as you build in confidence you will loosen up and ‘get your eye in’ but stay focused it WILL happen naturally…. and he goes on to dominate the midfield (the engine room) I spoke to an old guy once passed away now… he said he had seen them all from Pele to Maradona and Zidane was the best… it’s all opinions but a defo a legend. Good luck in the game. And life. It’s all decisions.
Nobody except Maradona can match Zidane in terms of body control and ball control. But most important of all, his vision and IQ of the game benefited all teammates which is a special gift in a sport where individual's stats sometimes more important that efficiency. Alas I can't see a genius like him to emerge in nowadays football where dribbling is almost lost...
He is top three imo in being effective but that doesnt mean neccessarily spectacular... I grew up to him he was a master of deciding matches all by himself in the world cup final in france 1998 he made two goals against brazil where he become a legend... He cant run like ronaldo 7 or messi but he was a joy to watch because his ball control and vision is the best of all time decided matches... "your classic number 10 playmaker "
RONALDO FENOMENO...also knowing as the real RONALDO. Brazilian legend that played with ronaldinho...he was arguable the best striker ever and if it weren't for injuries could have been the goat...Still regarded as 10 ten player ever with an Injury plagued career..youngest ever balon dor winner, he was fuckimg amazing in his prime!
Guys, this is not his best video. The best players in history, I think they were Di Stefano in the 50´s, Pele in 60´s, Cruyff in 70´s, Maradona in the 80´s, Zidane 90´s-00´s, and Messi in 00´s - 10´s. This is the most common rating.
People can argue Ronaldo vs Messi until they are blue in the face. Zidane is the Goat. His split vision, reading of the game and passing is the best ever.
Zidane in my opinion should go down as one of the greatest players ever, what people need to know about him is that while yes he didnt score as many goals as Ronaldo and Messi (he did still score alot of goals) he served his purpose and his position as a midfielder to perfection, he controlled the the midfield, he was like a conductor conducting an orchestra, if the ball was coming up through the center of the field he was directing where it was going, he would hold up play until all the other players were in place and then make the most amazing passes, through balls and long passes. He would use his mad skills to catch opposing teams on the break and he was never scared to go in for a tackle... Zidane you would be on every hypothetical best team anyone ever asked me to create!
He was 34 yo in the first video , he played against the best team in the history , there was Ronaldinho and Ronaldo , two legends , and he delivered a perfect match that led France to the semi final of world cup . So yeah , there might be no 'flashy' skills , but he carried his team to victory. LEGENDDDDDDDD
If you don’t know soccer (football) this is a hard one to follow… basically Zidane was the man who was going to have to win this game (v Brazil lol) no mean feat….. and he knew it. He was Michael Jordan esq and probably the greatest single performer ever seen on a football field absolute flawless…. Focus… determination and will to win. He refused to be beaten that day. Simple.
