@SmokeyAdventure KJ you are suposed to remove the dross before you put in the Wax!. the Wax is to draw further impurities out of the lead once all dross is removed and you do this many more times only depending on how dirty the lead is and also make sure NO water of any kind hits the HOT lead TRUST me i learned that the painful way as some of my sweat from my nose dripped in and the lead went nuts and splashed my right eyelid and i have a scar of it for life. 1) do this outdoors in good weather 2) wear safety glass's 3) wear a bandana it helps to keep hair out the way and also helps catch face body sweat 4) wear a facemask for 2 reasons - 1 is it keeps you from breathing in any of the toxic fumes from the molten lead 2 it also helps to stop sweat from the face landing in the molten lead. 5) once you cleaned out all dross from the lead put in a decent amount of wax as this helps draw out further unseen impurities in the lead which it hides and stir as soon as the wax is on fire and keep stiring untill flames have gone. 6) make sure that anything tool-wise you are going to be putting into the molten lead is kept warm this is to prevent any of the lead from sticking to the cold surface and makes the cleaning and puring of the lead much faster and less hassle of the work. hope these tips help you guys keep safer and have fun and get the most out from you'r lead with minamal wast.

I am wondering could you not place a graphite furnace crucible inside that way you can pour from that and not have to clean out this thing or pour from the Lyman
