LOL. Where I work at when we have meetings every year and the majority of my coworkers never listen to what the main supervisor is saying.

Well this is obviously the CoconutMonkey office, and JayzTwoCents is subleasing space.

I'm retired and unattached, so when I shopped for my new house, all of which is being equipped and furnished as one giant man cave, a two-story was a must-have. The cost per square foot of a two-story is a lot lower, at least where I am, and that means having more space and more separate rooms for disparate activities. It's hard to finish out spaces like this when you have free rein within a given budget. It's easier to make choices when you have significant limitations.

I agree. Even if Nick is moving around a lot. I think he deserves one. Maybe ask him if he wants an office.

Jay wants a dedicated conference room, and a room for the podcast set. Using the podcast room would mean taking people through the work area, where you might not want outsiders seeing what you're working on. I'd move the conference room into the room by the entrance instead, give Nick the conference room space for an office. That keeps him on the same floor, near the test benches. The podcast room remains the podcast room, and the conference room would be where Jay wants to show off his work.

I don't know how often he plans on using a conference room, but it sounds as if he would only be doing the podcast once or twice a month or even once a week at most. I don't see many reasons why one room can't serve both purposes, other than having to come up with modular sound-proofing for podcast days instead of a permanent solution (since probably nobody wants to have a meeting in a sound-proofed conference room lol). Regardless, he's clearly already made up his mind about how he's gonna do things, so we just get to sit back and enjoy the ride. Looking forward to the re-model/re-structure in a couple years when they realize the way they've utilized some of the space isn't working as well as they initially thought it would - content is content :)

I felt the same, at least that's how it came over to me, sure that is not true though. Probably not the first to point out, (Yup, noticed a few comments already) the conference room could make a good podcast room too, if the decor was worked out. Then can give Nick his warehouse office. only some thoughts Jay.

@@MrChris123906 The glass does a terrible job of killing sound outside, which is not good for a podcast.

@@Jayztwocents Something you can look into, for Windows, is Sound Proofing Curtains, which can help with the sound from outside. I can't remember the brand I had, but I had some that did a real good job of dampening the sound outside the bedroom window. I wouldn't even know that a Firetruck / Ambulance / Police Car went by with their sirens on, if I didn't have the door open to the bedroom, with the curtains closed. (Was living on a busy main street)

I think the sprinkler system will take care of that.

think about stability. you need supporting structure underneath. you don't want this stuff falling thru the ceiling.

You don't understand small business practices, write offs, financial loss, overhead, charity, and tax deductions required each year. As a business owner you must spend money in order to not lose your money to the government. There's a reason why he's doing this before 2024 tax year is up. He have a financial advisor/CPA telling him how much money that he needs to spend for a loss, write off, or for tax deduction. If he have $15k to spend on office space remodeling and certain things that he might want done will cost him $5k more he would need to wait until 2025 tax year to get it done. You must understand that the money being generated and spent is the business money and not his. He must give himself a salary. The new office space maybe $10k a year cheaper that he could use to give himself and his employees a raise or towards his business like equipment, etc.

Honestly I miss the rog roasting, and the awesome rigs they would look at.

the giveaways are the park and parking lot to the north. and the conference room window in the north east corner. traced the sun shadow on the tarmac. good luck searching on google maps. if you're an editor or pc component seller you know where you can ask. if not just stay home. don't bother invading their workspace. ;)

You would be surprised how hard it is to get brands to not think like 70 year old corpo suits.

Yeah, the monotonous tone of reading a script, often leads me to skip the ad, although Jay and team have done some great ones, even though the World of Warships have some script, they still put their own spin in it, and I also enjoy their Falcon Northwest, but those, like iFixit, is not like big corporations, so that might be why they have a little more leeway with how they want to do the ads. I even bought a iFixit kit because of the great iFixit ads that Jayztwocents does, although I didn't use their affiliated link because I'm located in Europe and bought it through a "local" online store.
