Nice Mullberry, trying to train one over my chicken pen so they drop for free food for them. I regularly get native poisonous plants here trying to invade, don't think I'd grow them on purpose lol. Bittersweet has invaded my hedges (Solanum dulcamara), Belladonna is a regular self seeder, Hemlock is a regular if I don't mow the verg at my gate along with giant foxgloves, and giant hogweed (you definately don't want that one!
Yep, there's definitely a few I don't want to contend with. I ended up with burns strimming parsnips one year, Hogweed gives a worse reaction, not on my wish list.
New sub and you had me with the shot of all the lillies 🥰 my favourite well one 😂 of my favourite flowers. Looking forward to seeing more of your journey, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦
Hello Jason, nice to meet you. I don't have an allotment now but a big garden in Wales where we grow lots of fruit and veg outside and in greenhouses and two polytunnels. Looking forward to following your channel....best wishes for a successful future here.
Hello Jason, a great tour of your plot and I’m really interested in following your channel and seeing what your growing 😊 good luck with your RU-vid journey 😊🌱👍
Hi Jason. Newbies here to the RU-vid community too, so welcome aboard! Looking forward to watching your videos. It's hard at first to film and might be weird, I'm still getting used to it as well 😂 your plot looks amazing 👏🏽 Rach & Eric
Thank you for sharing this. Your plot looks great. I appreciate all the hard work you have put in over the years. How many hours a week does it take to manage please? Best wishes from Plymouth Devon
Hi Nathan, a plot will take as many hours you can throw at it, the trick is to get it to a manageable level and hopefully you won't lose it to the weeds when you don't go down a couple of days. In the summer I go down almost daily because it's a nice place to be, you will always find something to do down there. 😁
Brilliant first vlog! I’ve just started a plot, so looking forward to loads of inspo! It’s a Mulberry, I think 😀👍 Have you tried growing the Walking Onions? I’m keen to give them a go but don’t know anyone that has!
Correct on the mulberry. We had a guy who used to give walking onions to people as a present when they first came on the plot. His were from a guy who gave him some over 20 years ago.
Hi, both are in the same Genus, the chinese gooseberry you buy in the shops are a form of husk tomato, ground cherry, but just a different species. As an example I have 3 species of tomatillo growing in the pots, all with different tastes, all however coming from genus: Physalis. All of these are also incidently plants from the family Solanaceae, a family that also includes some of the deadly nightshade species.
@Allotment-of-the-Dead I started 8 years ago and haven't regretted it, we learn more from the comments than anything else. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
