Normally stores open around 11 a.m. and some coffee shop or traditional market(you went first day)open 8 a.m. but your house was at hongdea. Hongdea opens at night that's why you can't find opened stores
Haha yeah.. Hongdae is a party area so most of the stores/restaurants open later in the day and also close really late. Places near apartments usually open early because there are many people going to school, work, etc.

I lived in that same neighborhood for 3 months this last spring. I miss it so much! 😭Here is a random list of food you can look up if interested: matcha cheesecake (Cafe Layered), spicy katsu curry (Kacheuyo), spicy bbq pork w/ rice and doenjang (Minari Restaurant), cheese katsu, bingsoo of any variety, Samyang carbonara ramen with kimchi, bonito flakes, & boiled egg (Convenience store), massive bowl of dakgalbi to share with friends, perilla chicken samgyetang. Ok I'm gonna stop now lmao enjoy
most of subscribers recommand to use delivary app :). so u can enjoy meals and coffee comfortably. ofcourse sometimes i feel uncomfortable when i go to restaurant by myself. so i always use those apps and enjoyed coffee,bread,pizza,nenmyun,chicken,etc. i hope u can use these in the future!!😘
Lol korea definitely needs to get on the breakfast train, when I went last October, I was always up super early cuz of jet lag and nothing was open except for convenient stores (thank god) and starbucks! Also that black rice things you ate at gwangjang market is called sun-dae (pronounced soon, not like the ice cream lol)- it’s blood sausage and so good, that was my last meal in korea. Love your vlog, I like that it’s simple and not overproduced 😊
I’m korean college students living in seoul and I’m suprised because your trip route was exactly same that what I do in last summer Last summer I went to Newjeans pop-up and that necklaces shop in Itaewon and I usually been Yeonnam-dong lol I think you enjoyed local seoul life in 100%
???? 7:48 daiso is right there! on the left side. that white building with a red sign. 다이소 = daiso oh your accomodation was near Hongdae main street, where is usually open late. Most cafes and bakeries open early in the morning. So are shops in residential areas. But the area you were in had more bars than cafes and bakeries, so it would have been quiet in the morning.

When i want to go to a cafe early in the morning, i go to either starbucks, a local bakery cafe (they open around 8am), coffeebean, dunkin, ….i guess franchise cafes usually open early but others open at like 10am😊

Hongdea... Good for playing around.( they have 'dont want sleep drink till its morning kanna bibe.) most ppl are came there after work or school. So its full when its night. Empty at day time. Unless its weekend.

ya ive been to seoul 3 times. things dont seem to open "early" but they do stay open late. i know youre in korea now. but def try eating breakfast at Isaacs.
From what I’ve seen in other KoreN food bloggers’ videos, convince store food there in Korea, are really pretty decent! For all meals!! Hope you had a blast and ate plenty of great food!
