Hahaha that’s a great question! It’s helped that the first few days we didn’t have any responsibilities so I was able to wake up a bit lol. I think right now i I still have enough excitement for starting something new that is driving my work ethic. But I’d be lying if I said I haven’t already missed the times where I had nothing to do! 😅

I did! I actually took 2! My advise would be find a consistent way to be exposed to medicine, whether that’s scribing, research, shadowing a doctor on a schedule, etc. I worked as a research assistant in an orthopedic clinic. I loved it and it also showed admissions committees that I had spent considerable time around the medical profession which is important. I hope this helps!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. And that’s a great question (and I will likely make a video on it because it’s such a great question lol). Most people don’t feel the need to and rely solely on student loans, which is fine and allows you to focus only on being a student. There are also tons of scholarship opportunities where students can receive anywhere between $500-$15,000+ per scholarship. And other people have “side hustles” where they create other streams of revenue through things like personal businesses, tutoring, etc. For example, this RU-vid channel will serve as a “side hustle” for me (even though it doesn’t completely pay the bills lol). I think it’s a food idea to explore potential side hustles that you can maintain as a student because not only will it give you the opportunity to make a little money, but it will give you additional opportunities to grow outside of the academic setting.
