I was there in '95 as in probably before you were born (1995)! Nothing has changed but I suspect nothing needs to. Asssuming you have Wifi etc now at least youre at least better connected but the music will be worse. Back then I was the king of the flat having a telly!

Actually there were no tiles in the bathroom in 1995, it was all concrete

Emily Hurst hiya, I used white tack for the walls, and then pins for the noticeboard :) Xx

hi! im going in September and was wondering how you put up the polaroids and the witches? i thought you have to pay for the damage to the walls? Xxx

Heaven Trya hey! I just used white-tack. You aren’t supposed to, but everyone did. I was super careful that it didn’t ruin the walls & put a lot of it on the wooden doors etc (that doesn’t stain), so it just depends on how you feel! No one I knew had any issues with it! Xx

Hey, I am moving in to talybont south this year and I really want to decorate my walls with photos and was wondering how you stuck the pictures on the wall without leaving a mark that would annoy the uni ? :)

Hey! I took a risk and used white tack. I mostly stuck to the wooden door and other stuff that wouldn't stain, so I recommend doing that! You also get a noticeboard, so bring some pins for photos, etc, as they sold out everywhere the week I moved in!

Hi! I can’t remember exactly as it’s been a few years, but I had space to store a medium size suitcase under there and a small plastic box :)

Hello! I'm coming to Cardiff Uni in September and I'm an international student. What size are the beds and where is the best place to buy bedding and other dorm essentials? Thank you!

Hello! The beds are standard single size ✨ Wilko in the city centre is a great shop for all sorts, sells lots of home things (e.g. pillows, bedding, kitchenware etc). The big Tesco’s (a superstore near Talybont) sells pretty much anything you could need, including food. Hi! Yes, under my bed it was just an open space so you can put things underneath :)

Hi! Im starting uni next month and im staying at talybont south, what is the accommodation like and are there a lock on the door into your room?

J Hi! Congratulations ☺️ the accommodation is good & has everything you need, including en-suite bathrooms.The whole building works on electronic key cards. So you can lock your door 😁

Hey! The kitchen was good, it should be shown somewhere in my first year Vlogmas (if you wanted to see what it looked like, maybe the Christmas dinner video?) There wasn’t a dishwasher :)

Heard Taly South has a bad silverfish infestation, is that true? Have a room at Liberty Fields at the moment but thinking of changing to Taly South

Hiya, since being here I’ve seen around 3. I was really nervous before I came, because I imagined them crawling everywhere. But they are tiny and on their own, so it’s not bad at all. 😃

Pippa Bonney Definitely! Taly South is really sociable and in a good location! The uni is fab! I’m having a great time :)

hey I’m starting in September but terrified of the silverfish situation has anyone else said it’s really bad? Want to be in social halls with an ensuite and not too far away from the uni but the silverfish is really putting me off because I hate bugs 😩 read so many reviews saying it’s a really big issue! x

Eloise Crossman what is a silverfish anyways?? I am starting my PhD in October and confused which one to choose? Any recommendations for postgrad??

Assala Mihoubi Silverfish are small insects that are attracted to damp areas, they are harmless :) with regards to postgrad, I don’t know a lot about that as I’m only first year ✨
