My friend and I got checked yesterday - twice, on the Feather river in NorCal. They both looked briefly at our licences then, as usual, shared some good info with us during a friendly chat. You were relaxed and helpful, there was no reason for giving you the third degree. Glad your channel is growing, I'm subscribed now too.

Total of 38 years of law enforcement and I reserved this attitude towards those who were a$$holes to me. These guys were a$$hats from the start. I'm sorry this happened to you. Tight lines and be safe.

I subscribed because you were put through a lot of B.S. , I'm in North Florida, the game wardens here, have been really cool, they check for your license, check any fish you have, and let you get back to fishing, no harassment at all. They actually have given me tips on what baits and lures have been working. I've never had them search anything, and they have no problem with showing the fishing license on my phone.

I just got my license checked for the 2nd time in my life last weekend. Game officer snuck up and scared the living crap out of me! He wound up being super cool and chatted with us for a bit before checking licenses and went on his way. His parting question was" Soooo you guys have any regulation questions or anything I can answer?" Super cool. Just doing his job and assisting any way he could. Top notch game officer! This guy not so much! So much unnecessary tension! Stop acting like a cop at a traffic stop! You're checking fishing licenses!

Thank god for those brave officers. Imagine the world we would have if people could freely fish!

I am a retired Federal Officer and I have never disrespected, especially a law abiding citizen like you, anyone like this guy did you. In his position he is going to have encounters with armed citizens many times each day, and if he continues to approach hunters, and fishermen this way, he is going to have a miserable career.

I was fishing for crappie at White or Weiss Lake in Alabama when a local constable shook me down far more. He didn’t like soldiers. No citation but he looked hard for the smallest infraction. There was Wildlife sergeant in Big Lake, AK who was just as bad. Wouldn’t give anyone an inch. He eventually got charged and convicted for shooting a moose out of season but it didn’t affect his job.

Game wardens are why I quit waterfowl hunting. Constant harassment every time I went. I was in a waterfowl club on leased properties that these guys knew were club leased. Yet with all the decoys set up in open fields clearly able to see, they still think your'e poaching. Another time while elk hunting, I returned to my truck at a trailhead near sundown one day. There was a game warden standing there saying I saved him a trip because he was going to head up the trail and find me to see if I had a license. He had no idea where I was when he pulled up...I could have been five miles from the truck (wouldn't have been the first time). Too many of these guys are just assholes.

I remember being harassed at the age of 15 while fishing with my dad. My fathers English wasn’t that good and we are also Asian so that didn’t help lol. He asked if I had my fishing license and I responded no then his eyes lit up and said why? I was like bro I’m 15 😂 I don’t need one! Then he asks for identification. My dad next to me saying what’s he’s saying lol! Fish and game assumes your stealing fish at all times. Don’t be surprised!

Never speak to any type of law enforcement. They're not encountering you to be friendly. It's always adversarial.
