This video might be a bit obscure to non-scandinavian people, since the cabin in question is more like a summer cottage to where people go on their summer holidays to relax. Usually they are owned (or even built) by the peoples grand-parents etc. so that's why it will be split by all the heirs (also a great way to cause terrible arguments about who gets to spend time at the cabin and when). The cabins are usually not warmed by other means than a fireplace so that's why it takes (what feels like) 16hours to heat up. The amount of different cutlery comes from people bringing their left-over or old non-complete sets of cutlery to the cabin, rather than throwing them away. There are no toilets, just outhouses because cabins usually don't have plumbing except maybe for the kitchen sink. If not even that, you probably have a well from which you get your water. Also rainwater is collected for washing up water to be used at sauna. The wifes reaction is totally normal for a person, who's grown up without a cabin in their life. She has no sentimental value for spending time at a place where all the activities are as listed by the singer xD Other subjects that were implemented in the video: Cabin fever. Cramped isolated spaces in the middle of nowhere. Nothing to do-stereotype if there's no computer/TV etc. All cabins have copper items on the walls or shelves, also taxidermied animals. In Scandinavia we say: "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing" (Det finns inget dåligt väder, bara dåliga kläder/Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlige klær). He made up the word "klæther", but because it's a mix of the Swedish "Kläder" and the Norwegian "Klær" which just means "Clothes" and in the native language, also rhymes with weather (Väder/Kläder and Vær/Klær. This is due to the fact that we have a lot of cold weather, both snowy and rainy.
Ylvis is Norwegian, but Sweden and Norway is very close in both tradition and personality. So... In addition to LanviLauri's comment: "There is no bad weather, only bad kleather" is a spoof on the Scandinavian proverb: "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes". "Kleather" is a mix of the English and Nordic word for clothes: "clothes" and "kläder". In Sweden we call it Swenglish. Most cabins in Sweden do not have animals hanging on the wall. Maybe copper, but more likely just old kitchenware. Also, at least in Swedish "outdoor toilets", it is a tradition to hang photos of Swedish royalties on the wall. The red wine bottle is because we consume a lot more alcohol in the summertime, often referred to as alcoholism. Google "Systembolaget" which both Swedes and Norwegians benefits from. :) Skiis on the wall is all Norwegian, I believe. :) As cabins is not the real house and relatives have spent different amount of times in the place and therefore have different emotional attachment to the place, there could be some arguments about who should get it when the owners die. Hence the sentence: "split it with my brother, sister, father, uncle and his lover". A cabin usually holds several decks of cards and none of them will be complete. Who buys a NEW deck of cards?!
