I recently moved to North Carolina and i have discovered bluefish, and i decided i enjoy eating them. Those are some nice size fish!

Those were some monster blues! Wish they would come up to South Carolina this year!

What single style hooks do you use to replace trebles? Is that also why the fish come off so much easier?

Good shit mate. We call them green back Taylor here in Australia. Good tip mate is 2 blead them, not much good if you freeze them! Chrome slugs work well!! Tight lines bro!!!!

Bluefish catch'n'cook?

They have been heavy out there really big blues! I was up in that area catching 35-45” blue back to back on poppers. my first time Experiencing anything like that especially that big. I went back the following week and it was even crazier they actually got bigger and there was so many every time you got one you can see 5 to 10 right behind them. You have to enjoy it while they’re still here

I've never heard of huge gator blues in South Florida! I can't wait to get into topwater bluefish up here in CT! Bluefish are one of the most aggressive, hardest fighting fish in the ocean, pound for pound. Acrobatic like tarpon and snook. Jaws and teeth like a piranha. Myth has it that bluefish can see out of the water just as good as it can see while in the water, which is why they'll go after people's hands and feet while being handled or while flopping around. They are so aggressive, many people call them stupid due to them hitting practically any lure you throw.

I remember when we got them that size all the time. Both coasts of Florida up to the panhandle used to be mobbed in big blues, big mullet and menhaden. Commercial net fishing have destroyed them in the name of cat food and fertilizer.

There's a lot of freshwater drum and black drum and red drum so a croaker and spots you just got to use the right thing lot of crabs a lot of shrimp a lot of oysters a lot of clams and fish bites so yeah buy some green crabs if you can get green crabs or anything you know even small clams you catch this small plans and hook them on there you'll get a good size fish don't forget to use fish carcasses man I mean I hit a lot of nerve sharks and a lot of shovelnose and a lot of hammerheads and guess what I caught a goliath grouper oversize man I wish they'd change the rules catch a lot of grouper that way he's in fish heads and fish parts watch what I tell you you will catch goliath grouper at night with the sharks and barracuda barracuda chop up that for bait he likes it fresh the blue fish

Get a beer cap put two holes in it or get your mom's spoon and get a hacksaw put two holes in it put a treble hook with some feathers and just bob up and down with flashing you'll see what you'll get and he ain't picky or when he takes it make sure don't don't tell your mom you're taking her silverware she'll be mad if you take her spoons but tell her you'll give them back in a little bit after you finish drilling the holes out and put the treble hook on it she'll never know the difference is beer caps are missing I even take a Coke can and polish it real nice put two holes at the bottom of it and put two treble hooks in it some feathers you'll never know the difference and make sure you some still leader you'll

Substitute as bluegill catfish salt or fresh the other substitute is wild buffalo and your favorite African cichlids tilapia the blue tilapia you catch a lot of tilapia Florida alligator Gar is the next one

Where i live in florida we have unlimited of bluefish all sizes and locals call them bluerunners or bluefish

if you're gonna do a catch and cook, i would try smoked bluefish, its great ps. next time you catch chopper blues like that bleed them it makes a huge difference.

I hope that the fish covered in sand were kept and not released. Sand damages the slime coat and reduces the likelihood of a fish's survival. Best to have pliers at the ready and keep fish to be released off the beach.
