Hi Sean, welcome to Malaysia. I only understand spoken Mandarin so not sure what most people are recommending. I do like to point out try to eat the right "food" at the right place in Malaysia otherwise it would leave you with a wrong "taste" (like eating "dim sum" in Beijing). I dare say no Malaysian would recommend Penang for "bak kut teh/rou gu cha". For original "ruo gu cha" go to Klang (Selangor) then try KL (Kuala Lumpur) looks and taste different but should be the best place for "ruo gu cha" in Malaysia. If you are still in Penang would like to suggest you try to arrange "durian farm" visit (even if you dislike durian but should be good for your channel). BTW no Malaysian foods trip is complete without tasting Malay and Indian foods. Enjoy your Malaysian adventure
