With the recent onslaught of blacktip kingfish going in the Umzimkulu Marina right now, and the current government granted school stay away, we decided to offer the Fishin's Cool fishing school curriculum again.
Its a lot more serious these days. We go species by species and concentrate on ecology and conservation of each fish.
We also have underwater cameras which have opened our eyes extremely wide! You can actually buy these trolling cameras on The Sardine News website at thesardine.co.za. The new perspectives are being put to use immediately!
Which is exactly how the beautiful trophy-sized estuary caught blacktip kingfish caught by the class of July 2020 came about. After seeing that kingfish on the underwater camera, we went straight back out there and caught one!
Unfortunately it never ate the lure on the underwater camera rig, but what a fight as Chelsea did her usual trick and ambushed us at the exact right moment making for the usual amount of chaos we experience during fishing school.
