Great video as usual, man! Love the content! Been watching for well over a year now and you are sticking true to who you are and how you started. Great to anglers like you doing what now is considered old school without all the electronics on deck.
appreciate the kinds words. Yep, just love fishing. i have a great kayak and gear that i've accumulated over my life but would be happy fishing from the bank too
yes, the surprise of top water even though you're throwing it and expecting a bite. That's part of what keeps us coming back! Great vid Greg, love seeing how you figure stuff out, even when you kinda don't :)
Watching this pretty scenery was a relief after getting up at the crack of dawn to hold an annual garage sale in my neighborhood. The sale of excess fishing gear we were trying to unload was a fizzle. It reminded me of that bush that attacked you lol. The bright side of where you were - no boat traffic 😊 Continue collecting that Vitamin D and sharing your adventures, thanks!
I’ll say this you put me on game with the native kayaks back in 2019 and then again with the yak attack paddle holder and paddle on the side I’ve been pedaling for years and always left my paddle in the back in the holders until recently deciding to try how you do it and it’s awesome. I bought a a cheap a single sided paddled for it so I can use it to push off stuff and knock lures lose etc. just great idea
Well, at least you have been able to get on the water! The only decent river I have to fish near me has been flooded for weeks! I still enjoy your videos even if you have a hard day...
Greg - you still gotta try Lexington Reservoir in Santa Cruz mountains of Highway 17. Lots of big ones in there and no gas boats allowed. Gets a bit windy but was my favorite spot when I lived in San Jose.
Where'd you learn to sigh ? Take a deep breath Greg 😊 I pretty much watch all your content . West coast's best black bass content creator in my opinion 👌
@@Abe_Sinclair No whities, but def some small largies…..I don’t even think they were opening their mouth….just head butting the bait out of the water. Lol
Hey Greg you should get one of those triple hooks that has a blade on it and put it on your popper on the front treble hook That's what I use especially when there's bait flickering up top
What a beautiful fishery. Always enjoy watching and learning from you. Although sometimes I find myself reminiscing your black chatterbait, booyah padcrasher, cheater jig days. Gotta get you over here in florida so we can hammer em!💯🎣
Greg good morning and thank you for sharing your day experience on the lake. Yes the day was tough a hard grind to get your first fish but I totally liked the way you talk yourself through it and understood the sweet and the sour of fishing! You can show tournament, practice or just out trying a technique to me it’s fishing and there is nothing like it you would find another hobby. We love all these videos and you’re sharing your journey with us and honestly I’m hooked and can’t stop watching them. Your a teachable angler which means you want all you can take from these fishing experiences and I’ve been inspired to look at that position it’s important in a beginner bass angler do thank you Greg so much until the next one take care and God bless!!!!
Hey Greg, great video as always. I think you should start investing into some fluke style baits. Fishing them weightless around this time of the year always works well. Especially if they aren’t biting topwaters.
That whopper plopper blow up was a pattern. Work it real slow like just fast enough to plop for like 10ft then pause for 5 seconds then start reeling same speed again and rinse and repeat back to the boat. I noticed they were around wood cover mostly. I caught quite a few nice fish doing this in early may in PA
No skunk 🦨 right? And a gorgeous sunny day to be on the water!!! I call that success because I got to watch another great video of yours👍🏼❣️See you next time!
Bruh, same. I get to hyped before going out fishing and I cant sleep! i end up staying up all night watching fishing videos and rigging. Next morning I am too tired to wake up early lol.
When it's a tough day you'll be surprised what happens when you keep a glide in your hands. They sometimes are completely turned off anything else except the bigger baits.
Greg it’s like that everywhere in California I’m catching them only on a drop shot with a 3 inch hologram fluke bait but you have to put the baits right on there’s noses. Yup thanks brother Greg Dennis from Brentwood California ciao Bella buddy
That was a tough one Greg ,I don't know if I missed it but I didn't see you throw a Spinner bait ??? And it was a bright blue sunny day which always makes it tough. That's fishin lol. Thanks for the video bro can't wait for the next one.
It's reassuring to see that even Greg gets caught up in the trees. Also, *slap* you had a great day, you weren't stuck at home working a desk job! 😀 Keep the great content rolling!
I noticed you cut the portion of you getting yourself unstuck from the tree. I’m guessing that segment would have changed the rating to R?! Probably made Mike blush with some of the words you said ! 😂😂
Bro I the whopper plopper is my favorite top water and I swear the bass only hit it half the time when you’ve got the lure half way back to the boat and you’re half ass retrieving it and it makes you jerk like you did. I do it all the time. I have to force my self to laser focus when I throw one so I don’t miss half my fish 😂 seeing someone as good as you doing the same thing made me laugh
When in doubt, slow it down. Lake looks perfect with a lot of potential. Could be they fed all night. Maybe an evening bite? Always a fun video. Sometimes the struggle can be just as fun as the tug. Hence why so many baits and empty checking accounts. 😂
Hi Greg, have you ever come out to Sonoma County? there are a ton of small public ponds perfect for your Kayak and also a lake called Lake Sonoma with good fishing. Spring Lake that's in Santa Rosa was known for giant bass in the past years.
👍✌️ Soldier 10 hours on the water with only four or five little fish to show for it.... is 1,000 times better than punching a clock 9 to 5 and have no fish to show for, lol.. take a bucket with you next time soldier, think you can figure that 1 out rite?? Lol..✌️👍
@@MikeMarlatt I’ve been fishing that lake for years and I’ve personally hated bass fishing around carp at the north east end of the lake. Not sure why it’s that way…. Maybe it’s operator error 😂 I know the carp are very active and disruptive tho when they spawn, I’m sure that’s gotta have something to do with it.
IMO. If you're are up that early you need to be fishing the low light shad spawn from dusk till sunrise those lmb are on shad till the sun peaks. I need line in at 430 and usually fire till 6ish, depending on the hills. Video starts at 8 lol. If you start at 8 you need to thro IN the cover.
Okay okay. 3:43 ish time frame. You’re throwing the plopper or choppo, whatever. You stop to reach or do something. Start reeling again and bam 💥 you get that huge blowup! This is a sign that slowing down with top water really makes a difference!
Been a long time subscriber, thank you for making your video's, living my fishing days through your videos since raising 2 daughters. I know you use alot of baits, but you might give bright/subtle color floating worms (trick worm merthiolate color) a try, especially this time of the year. It wasnt that long ago that you started using spinnerbaits and now it's in your starting lineup. Just need to catch some and get some confidence. I get a similar thrill, like a topwater bite, when working a trick worm in shallow cover, then it suddenly disappears and a bass is having its way with you. Just saying...hope to see a new type of bait in your line-up.
Dude I think it’s a Cali thing these bass are funky this year but in Texas they are exploding. This year is a little cooler so I’m guessing that’s why.
i just discovered this channel but have you fished Baum lake CA, its up pass Burney ca it's the first lake before crystal lake hatchery. it might be bass and trout but there's for sure some biggins
Does he just have a huge SD card and keeps the back camera running? What kind of external battery would he use for the GoPros? I have so many questions about his tech set-up lol.
@@kk5fe unsubscribe podcast #158 they asked one of their guests "who is a youtuber you watch all the time, and never miss one of their videos?" and they mentioned this channel, so i had to check it out.
