The PRO-4X series by G. Loomis has two outstanding new additions in the big fish category - the Short Stix and the Predator. Check out what these rods can do for your fishing.

Hi Peter. What happened to the short stix. Other short heavier rods seem to have died out too. Pity would have liked to try one. Thank you for the channel Bill

These rods were discontinued when the PRO4x lineup was discontinued. The entire line up went. They were great little rods and people who tried them, loved them, but selling anything different can be a tough sell. Fly anglers are a hidebound bunch. I've had guys tell me that they don't want the Loomis 8' 10" streamer rods as they're "too short". Like 2" makes a big difference. Oh well . . .

What bull shit so called 9ft rod with switch handle needing 2 hands on a 9ft rrod and these old shoulders there been carborn rods over 25 years so dont no why make out rods were heavy but you get charged nearly the same for much longer dont how some rod makers charge more for a shorter rod than one that longer

Mark Turnbull while it's wonderful that you don't have to worry about using two hands on a rod, not all are so fortunate. A two handed 9 footer will allow an elderly person or someone with a chronic injury to keep on fishing. A large chunk of the fly fishing community is an aging demographic, with arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis and a whole lot of other itises that can slow down their fishing. A two handed 9' rod can make a difference. You're also forgetting that long handled 8' to 9' rods have been a staple of the blue water fly fishers for a long time. The Predator series fits right in with their requirements. The rod isn't a pricing gimmick.
