A 6 day crossing of the Ruahine Rangers of the North Island of New Zealand.
On the 4th to the 9th of January 2019...
The first deer was shot within twenty minutes of getting off the raft, lots a sign around but the fishing was very spotty with very few fish caught on the first two days.
Another two deer were shot in the evening of the second day.
The third and fourth day were walking, no more hunting was needed as we were all heavily loaded with meat.
On the fifth day the fishing went off! With ten fish caught and two of them being six pound plus, using a dry fly with a nymph dropper. Great sight fishing.
Definitely a memorable trip.
