Thanks for the video. I am a retired guy in PA wanting to get back into fishing the surf. Not a fan of driving 2 hours alone for a few hours of fishing. But, this video may have sparked that desire. Usually fish during our vaca in OC NJ . But that is only 1 week out of a year. Now retired if I want to fish guess I will have to . I have been watching Bayside Dave of LBI a lot and learning a ton. I haven’t been to Barnegat Light for years. Great video!
Thank you for all the kind words my friend , get out there ..wet a line ..I always look forward to being outdoors ..take the drive ..you won't regret it , EXPLORE MORE ✌🏻
Keeper size in NJ right now is 15 inches and your allowed 1 a day , it changes during the season though so always check the regulations at DEP.NJ.GOV hope this helps
You should use bank sinkers on the rocks, pyramids get hung up in the rocks and break off your rig more often, found that out the hard way the first time I went Tog fishing
Great day of tog fishing! Thanks for the tutorial as well. We like tog fishing and were out at Barnegat last July. Caught lots of undersized togs and had fun with light tackle and small hooks punching the holes in the rocks for cunner.
My goal this summer in New Hampshire is to target tautog this summer. They don't recognize the fish here and no size limit. Green grab would be the bait as we don't have sand flees.
I watched an old man about 6 years ago use a high low rig for blackfish and got a double header with big fish. Had a 8 pounder and an 11 pounder on at the same time at that same location
@@Exploremorefishing They don't sell them here (Long Island). in a pinch Gulp makes a version. I know where to find fiddlers. They work real well also.
@@Exploremorefishing Haven't tried to be honest. I have used Hurley plastics infused with sand eel oil and they kill. Especially the twister tails for fluke.
