So im guessing this is thailand, vietnam, maybe laos or myanmar? This is how I imagine how those ponds, filled with large fish, exist: So in the rain season the river level rises and the river bursts its banks, overflowing a lot of surrounding terrain. In the dry season the river level gets lower, because there is no more inflow of water. So while the river is retreating further back into the river bedding, and the water from the overflown terrain is also flowing back to the river, these little ponds arise, or "stay behind". Any fish in there, have no way of going back to the river. Is that correct? So I was wondering: will these ponds fall dry during the dry season? Or are they big enough to survive the dry season till the rain season starts again ?
