We take a quick break from the Quonset Hut Shop build and head to Delta Clearwater River for a summer day of fishing. Although we didn't catch a fish that we could retain, we had a blast on the water landing these beauties.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

We had a similar experience on the Clearwater in 1960. The fish only wanted a super-duper lure. I was fishing in a canoe with my dad and brother. We traded poles after 2 fish, as we only had the one lure. Thanks for the memories.

Many will feel some jealousy, seeing you guys living and working under such magnificent conditions, and building a good life. Hopefully, maybe some day we get to see kids, that would be lovely to see them playing around, laughing, feeding the chickens, homeschooling, doing the stuff they do. They would be so happy. grayling usually dont spawn for the first time for 3 or more years at which point they are usually around 12" and bigger so the goal is to not keep spawn capable ones. Similiar concepts for Walleye near me can only keep 15-19" fish and the the 20-24" range is prime walleye spawn size so they restrict that size completely but you can keep (1) >24" ...

WOW! I haven´t been fishing for grayling since I was a small girl...my mouth is watering now. We went out on the river yesterday but the fish were lazy, probably because of the weather. Sunny and warm but a low pressure was on its way. There is a weather alert about severe heavy rain up to 70 mm in a short time where I live, down south is a red alert with even more rain. We may also have heavy thunder so I prepare if the electricity been cut off. Thanks for getting us along on this awesome fishing trip!

Grayling have been recorded up to 8 pounds. Alaska record is a bit over 6 pounds. Arielle, the 411 on Grayling is that they most often bite on the lure dropping to the bottom rather than the retrieve.
