In this video I do something I have never done before and target a very peculiar and underrated fish species, the Burbot! They're by far my favorite for the table. The texture and taste cannot be matched and It's fight is very special. I also catch a very interesting critter!! Hope you enjoy and hit that subscribe button!!

If you’re not in danger of snagging or getting cut off by a rock or something, you’re not where the fish are. Never saw a burbot before! Very cool.

You play with your drag WAYTOOMUCH! the most annoying thing to watch was you messing with it, instead of relling the fish in, ugh! Set the drag correctly and you never have to touch it! but the burbot were cool.
@LTOutdoors15
@LTOutdoors15 3 года назад
I use light line, I have to play the fish rather than horse them in and lose the fight. The drag is made to be used, that's why I dont lose many on light line

From the west end of the UP we go to Minnesota, they have a lot of Lawyer fish over there, that’s what we call em, nice job buddy👍👋 the say they call them fresh water cod but I don’t know if they are or not, can’t remember what brand of spinning real I have but the drag is on the back of the reel and it’s a knob, makes it nice, don’t know why they haven’t done that to others, that front drag can be a pain
@LTOutdoors15
@LTOutdoors15 3 года назад
You're absolutely right, they're a freshwater cod! I like them better than cod though. I'm hoping to catch many more this season. I have a couple quantum reels with the drag on the bottom, I've gotten so used to the top though I dont even realize I'm doing it anymore lol
