I spent a relaxing morning on the Gold Coast broadwater fishing for Garfish. #broadwater #goldcoastfishing #garfish #fishingvideo #fishing #tinny #smallboat #fun
I target them land based in the broadwater over at labrador at night…believe it or not…theres so many lights on the walkways you can easy see your float…theres some snodgers…over there it comes down to calm/no wind nights, or sw wind. They like eddies, run up and top of the tide…often get bream as a side catch..using size 12 hooks which i have to buy on ebay, i order the rubber stoppers, and floats earlier in the year in readiness..all comes from vicco, where they love chasing gar…qlders not so much. My burley concoction consists of damp sand, crushed cheezels, half a box only ( other half for eating) and tuna oil…i need some weight because i have to peg it out, hence the sand. My theory is don’t over feed them…otherwise they won’t take the bait…you want to excite them, not feed them with your burley…fine dust particles of food only.
Hi Mate, I love the cheezels idea! Thanks for that info. Sounds like you have put way more time into chasing them than I have. I'll keep a mental note of those tips. Also, I been a bit frustrated with the lack of availability of higher end pencil floats, I'll definitely have a look online and see what the southern states have 👌
Hey bud you got specific spot land based for these tasty dorsals??as we call them piper where I come from and wouldn’t mind a feed of these now and then Cheers
@@adamtuara8667 G'day! When I was a kid we used to fish for them off the rock jetty out the front of the wynumn/manly swimming pool (the tidal one) That was 30 years ago though so my Intel isn't recent. Raindogred's comment above this might give you some starting points if you're based around the Gold coast. Other than that I'm not much help for land based I'm afraid.
Ha ha! Tuna oil is horrendous to get off things, and the smell is an 'acquired' taste 😆 I didn't consider the float when I poured it over the bread. That float is now only for burley. I can only imagine what your boat was like! Yep, luckily I fished him out back at the boat ramp on an angle. I was relieved the floor didn't have to come up!
