We use it to build our bait around And create good bait presentation. But it's main purpose is the small loop at the bottom we clip our sinker(weight) to that loop via a small clip on the weight. This then allows you to cast it as one object and therefore offers alot less wind resistance and can almost double your casting distance. Once it hits the water the two will unclip.
