Thanks for a nice vid! Some nice Perch, but god they're so pale! like the Perch in a murky canal local to me. it amazed me the first time I caught a proper colourful river perch after being used to the canal ones.

That's commercial fishery perch for you, more than likely the coloured water is the cause, much the same as the carp and everything else that swims in them. 👍🏻

A thoroughly enjoyable video,really enjoyed seeing the vintage tackle being used,as I own and will be using vintage stuff myself. Plus I make my own floats and sometimes refurb old floats too.I`m probably wrong but was the pin reel you were using,a speedia ??? and what was the cane rod you had there please ??? Also liked and subscribed.

I get the cooked frozen king prawns from Asda. I think they were about £5 a bag. straight from the bag works well. Stu

Any light action rod will do, just as long as its soft, otherwise those hooks are easy to pull out. Have a go, you'll love using old gear. Stu

Alder woods my local, just a shame the perch are so pale and washed out. Bit of a freak of nature that place, the roach go huge as well

Good to talk to another alderwood angler, only issue is one side of that island gets hammered in the summer by noddies that have never heard of back leads lol. I have had some insane sessions there tho, 3 30,s in an afternoon after work being one!

Lovely video! I'm on the hunt for some traditional tackle for my perch fishing, just looking for a simple centre pin and float rod combo to get me going, im struggling to find a suitable rod for the job, is there anything you would recommend so I can keep an eye out for one? keep up the content

Something like an Allcocks Lucky Strike would be a good choice, I have one and it's terrific. Something suitable reel wise would be a Rapidex or a Trudex or something along those lines, you'll spend around £60 for a decent one and it'll look after you.
