Big is honestly underrated. His naive view of the world is something to admire. He doesn’t stress out, he doesn’t overthink. He just takes every pace in its time. Some call it being stupidly unaware, but as an overthinker myself, I consider it a rare skill. Awesome video once again, Pixel!
I'm surprised Blaze even made such a face, it doesn't sound like her due to her being so composed, did spending time away from one Sol Emerald and then finding it, really make her that much relieved?
@@spencerevans7915 I guess she was just in a moment of being a lot more open with her emotions. I like to think that's what happens when you spend some good times with Big.
I love Big so much. Both as a joke, a meme, and literally. As a joke and a meme; Big appears everywhere in SA2 as an easter egg, he's usually just black-staring into the souls of others without speaking and has been on par with Knuckles for brute strength. But compared to everyone else in the Sonic cast, he's not going on adventures or protecting anything -other than looking for Froggy- or even fishing to make a living. He takes time to slow down, looks over Froggy and himself, and just fishes because it's what he enjoys. The way I see Big is a friend that you know is there, but isn't the first person you think of (kind of like how I feel right now). When someone needs to talk, he'll be there to listen and just give a short general advice about the situation even if he doesn't know or hasn't experienced the same thing. As Skylar commented, "He doesn't stress out, he doesn't overthink. He just takes every pace in its time." Big is just that back-minded friend you resort to last and ends up being the best friend to talk to. I doubt SEGA is going to do anything about Big or give him any more character, but I think it's okay with him. He's there to relax and enjoy life, even when Eggman attacks nearby. He doesn't need a deep backstory like Shadow or Knuckles. He doesn't need to go on so many adventures like Sonic. He doesn't need Froggy to become some sort of wanted ancient power he or others can use. Big just needs to be, Big the Cat.
This is so beautiful the moment was heartfelt, when blaze was describing how she felt about being a princess and how hard it can be even when she lost all the Sol emeralds Big is such a kind big hearted cat who always gives good advise deep down he knew if you keep trying and focused on what you love things will eventually work out alright
I always love when Big is given the time in the spotlight he deserves. He's a simple guy living a simple life, and to someone who overstresses, it's a blessing. Also RIP Blaze's ribs.
If Big became a mainstay character, maybe he would be like Winnie the Pooh: He may not understand what's going on, but his heart's in the right place. When the world gets chaotic and the worries keep piling up, there's something comforting about being around a guy who doesn't have a care in the world. Maybe all we need in life, is a simple hug from a simple cat.
Both in the animation and in game, Big keeps us humble, He reminds us that sometimes we have to slow down to enjoy the times when we're fast. Big being there and giving his simple responses was nice but Blaze's subtle "so am I" was super adorable. It only makes sense the two cats would get along on this fishing trip
Ah Yes One Who's an out of control Character that's capable of destroying all combatants on top of a Pyramid And the other is A Kitty cat Princess That'll claw your face if you mess with her and has flame powers. That's something I wanna see actually
This has to be my favorite Animation With Blaze and Big 1. Blaze feeling like her duties are stressing her out which adds more character to her. Not to mention her VA pulled off a great Blaze thd Cat impression 2. Big Being very supportive and comforting her no matter how tough it gets. 3. The fluid animation and expressions in both characters. Here's hoping we get to see more of them in more videos in the future
I always enjoy when a seemingly dimwitted character gives an actually pretty sound piece of advice. It serves as a pretty good reminder that intelligence and wisdom aren't always mutually inclusive.
I really like how Big's portrayed here. He's pretty much Occan's blade in a character, giving the simplest, yet most effective answers. See it as him being just your average guy and not the most profound of people (because he is), but it works pretty damn well. He's a precious pickle, that cat. Also, Blaze sticking around him is pretty cute.
I always loved big for the same reason that i love the chaotix. Most character's in the sonic fandom have some sort of deep meaning behind the things they do. Fighting for freedom, protecting the world that your dead friend wanted to see. But with the chaotix, most of what they do is to simply make their monthly rent. Its simple, understandable and relatable. But with big, it's even more simple. He fishes. Why? Because he likes to fish.
If Big had more moments like this in the actual games I feel like he wouldn't be so disliked, or at least less of a meme. I'd never really thought about it but this animation goes to show how well Blaze and Big can play off each other, which really fits seeing as they're both purple cats. The animation and voice acting is good too, can't find a single thing to dislike about this. Great stuff!
He had moments like this though. Heck is one of the better written characters in Sonic Heroes. He’s a chill guy that would also help his friends out, and has a positive view on life. Team Sonic racing, Lego dimensions, prime, heck even frontiers( all of which are recent writing appearances for him ). He’s a great character, people just didn’t like his flunk gameplay in the first adventure game. Not only that, but his voice delivery in earlier games didn’t express what his character really was But, as I said though they’ve gotten better with all of that today.
Wow never thought I’d see the two cats of Sonic interact! Great job on the vid! The voice acting and facial expressions were great, they really show how far you’ve come as a va and an animator.
This... made me realise how important big is. (TLDR below if you don't like reading) Many sonic characters have unique personalities; even knuckles isn't just the dumb guy. He's naive and trusts people because he believes everyone to be honest; having lived isolated most of his life and when he was young, in a society of echidna's who like himself, were open and honest with him. But most sonic characters are always fighting for something, holding some grudge, burden and pain. Even sonic with his laid-back attitude, fears for his friends and puts himself at risk for them. Even to the point of being toxic to himself (eg. hurting himself to help others, even if doing nothing is actually better for everyone) because he fears losing them. Big... is different. He does something very few do. He listens. Everyone on our planet has problems and we all wants to complain, but nobody wants to listen. But by listening it helps others come to terms with themselves. To breathe, to take a break from life to just be in the moment. *TLDR* : Everyone needs someone to listen to them. Take a moment if things get stressful. Slow down, take a deep breath and talk to yourself. Sounds silly but trust me. Even alone you can listen to yourself; there's nothing you can't do. Just take it easy sometimes, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone, not even you.
This animation is really great, this is a side we never see from Blaze (my favorite), sad and anxious, and the we see her being really happy, but not her usual way. I love how the both iconic purple cat are in this animation.
Wow Pixelrush, you all getting better and better and better at these animations! And that interaction between Blaze and Big with that expressions and hug really made my day! Thank you so much for making these! ❤
This was way too wholesome to dislike. To whomever disliked this, you have no taste. You gotta love Big the Cat. Even with how he can act, it is his personality and big heart that makes him lovable. ^^
Big and Blaze being paired up is an unexpectedly splendid move. Blaze was already pretty stressed about her responsibilities, and Big was just happy to help her out. A good samaritan all around.
i love the idea of Blaze and Big being good friends like this; Blaze venting to Big is honestly wholesome loll,, I like the little detail at the end of Big not knowing his own strength and crushing Blaze lmaoo
This video was well done, The characterization of Big and Blaze were done with care. I could actually see this happening, with blaze confiding in Big in a secluded location, where normally and more notetable peers she would have her regal/ professional demeanor. Again well done to all involved with this animation short.
My GOD You truly making GOD'S work here. I absolutely adore the character interactions and I LOVE how expressive and lively Blaze is! A fan animation like this, truly brings a hope for dope content like this in the future. Massive props! C:
This was amazing! I loved the interpertations of the characters, and you always do a better job than Sonic Team themselves with it. Keep up the awesome work!!
This short movie is so sweet and moving! Blaze and Big are so touching and adorable in this little story and the animation is great! :D Congratulations! ^_^
I liked how blaze said her feelings to Big, she always is serious but Nice at the same time, but is more serious if is about her kingdom That's why she sometimes Have so much pressure about her emeralds. She... Sometimes think that she most do everything by herself, Even if sometimes she needs help. That's why she loves her Friends, they help her when she need it the most as here... You did a great job PixelRush😊 I loved it ❤
I like Big the most when he’s this really silly character who may look dumb but is deceptively wise. Like sure, he’s not the brightest, and he certainly isn’t cool, but you can’t deny he’s got his life sorted out. He knows what matters to him, has wisely chosen to live a simple life, and for that he’s quite happy. This scene from The Amazing World of Gumball actually reminds me quite a lot of him: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uHjUQZptumg.html
I would have liked Big the first time if they made his style more relaxing , like fishing. Instead it was like wrestling sea monsters on Deadliest Catch. It's come a long way since then , and I've learned I prefer passive games. I wonder how many are still waiting for Choa to come back?
