Bible Verse of the day: “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.” 1 John 3: 1-3
Y’all know how catfish always put up a good fight one time me and my dad went fishing my dad hooked it right in the eye he was battling it for about 20 minutes and won. We don’t like catfish so we threw it back sure or not he catches the same catfish again but when he goes to go get it just wiggles right back into the water after getting the hook off lol
Great video! By far my two favorite fishing channels are you and NDYAK Angler. Just love how you guys respect the sport, the fish themselves, and how you capture the nature around you. As far as my biggest fish this year, it's just over a 3 lb largemouth on a frog. I haven't been able to get out like I normally do because of a herniated disc in my back, but I'm healing and I'm back in my yak again! Thanks for putting out another quality video!
Hey thanks so much, Matt is an amazing guy, if you haven’t seen our videos together you would love them, I have one I posted earlier this month where we caught 12 musky in one day kayaking together, it’s defiantly worth a watch. I appreciate the support it means a lot
Crazy how you guys both hooked onto the same fish, such a gold piece in your video, other guy had a story to tell, felt like he seen a loch Ness monster on that 6 pound line 😂😂
I would think it was the Loch Ness monster too if I hooked him on 6 pound 😂😂😂, I saw his bait he had on and just smiled right away, crazy to see that happen, we both have a good story to tell and I’m just glad it’s on video otherwise no one would believe me lol
Haven’t been out since hardwater season so nothing big yet. Living not too far from Rochester myself has its fishing limits as far as traveling to good water. Spending hours musky fishing I’ve the years one tip I can give you thou is with lure retrieval is change up lure direction by swinging your rod tip left to right sometimes will trigger bites. Giving prop baits and others a zig zag movement coming back to boat. Always playing keep away. Great videos and positive attitude!
Thank you so much for the tips, I will try that Tommorow on Minnesota musky opener. As someone who also lives in Rochester it’s a pain to drive to good waters haha. Other than the sippi, Chester, and a few ponds and small lakes we don’t have much options around us. Thanks for the comment and for watching
Largest fish this year (and lifetime largest) was a 34 Inch Northern Pike off my kayak Memorial Day weekend. I was, and typically do, target(ing) Bass but lucked upon this one. I will definitely be going after more Pike after this, so fun getting pulled around in a kayak by a big fish! Keep the great videos coming!
Great vid man I’ve learned a lot watching you work a glide. Biggest fish I’ve gotten so far this season was a fish of a lifetime… 27” resident brown trout in the river I grew up fishing!
Wisconsin opener was this past weekend, we leave the weekends to people that work, being retired has benefits. My fishing buddy and I went out on the Fox River by Green Bay on Tuesday and Wednesday. A 36" musky and a northern about 28" was all we caught. There has been a lot of rain here. Green Bay had 3 1/2" of rain. The water was very muddy way out into the bay even. But it was a couple of good days fishing.
I was out on opener day in this video, was a blast. I’ve never fished the fox river but I’ve heard it’s awesome. Rain has made the fishing pretty bad in most areas I fish. Good luck next time you go out
Thanks so much Andrew, I always like to fish em differnt ways and sometimes you just can’t beat a nice day shore fishing, thanks for watching as always
Great video Nathan, glad to see you got the girlfriend out for a bit, so far this year the biggest fish I’ve caught has been a 22 inch 5lb catfish, good luck on your next trip out!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It was a blast with the girlfriend, I’m just happy she Finnaly caught her first musky. A 22 inch catfish is a beauty congrats, I hope you catch some fish on your next outing. Thanks for watching Thomas
Nice vid..Caught a 44"×22" on a small body of water not known for big fish. It defecated in both of my brothers new boots. 😂 will never forget that one.
Never caught a musky but a buddy that I work with and myself are headed to the Collins River this fall from Georgia. That lure might bring us some good luck....lol. Thanks for the video
Years ago i was fishing a river(wading) in central Iowa for walleyes and i hooked a 40" musky that a guy had just lost on shore. Took out both jigs and released.
nice video! my biggest fish this year is a modest 3.12 lb smallmouth bass. 20 inches long. Lake St. Clair. I've only been out a couple times so far this year. tight lines brother
That is incredible, glad to hear you caught a nice one. Anything over 40 plus always brings a smile to my face, honestly any musky at all being a big smile to my face hahah
That’s a giant, I would say a bigger setup is needed for lures this size. I hope you can get one soon and test your luck with bigger lures. Big fish sure do love big baits… and so do the little ones lol
A 17 inch smallie is a big one, congrats. Musky are a hard to catch fish and sometimes you just have to put in the work. I’m sure if you went out and spent some time targeting them, you would do amazing. Thanks for watching
Keep up the great content! I’m a Shimano fan boy but I’ve really been thinking about giving Piscifun a try, your setups seem to handle those big baits and fish well. My biggest of the year is a zero pounder lol because unfortunately I haven’t been out this summer yet.
I have a shimano Calcutta conquest as well I use for big baits but honestly, I rarely ever even use it. I fell in love with these piscifun reels mainly because they work awesome and are pretty darn cheap for a big bait reel. I was always worried about setting my Calcutta down on rock and what not. The piscifun reel gets the job done just as well as the Calcutta, of course it’s not nearly as nice of a real or built as well, but that’s to be expected when it’s 1/8 the price haha. Still catches fish and that’s all that matters. Thanks so much for watching :)
@TwilightTrip00 my overall favorite setup right now is the one I have in the video, piscifun alijoz 300, st.croix legend tournament musky, and 60 pound braid
It’s the bass pro swerve, I think they call it a 7 inch glide but I measured it from front to end of tail and it’s 8, they are $17 and work awesome, just swap the hooks
Honestly I was worried I wouldn’t like it, took me a few days of fishing to get used to it but now. I would never go back. Great for your hands, holding the rod normally usually makes my wrist hurt after a few hours of casting, but holding onto the pistol grip doesn’t make it hurt at all
I have it connected to an external audio recorder usually, either the zoom f1 or a rode wireless pro. Both work great. I have the mic at the front and the cord for it going to the back to the recorder which I have connected with 60 pound braid haha
That is incredible, happy to hear you caught a nice fish. Small water and remote bodies of water are by far my favorite. I really like small creek musky fishing
That’s a big crappie and walleye, congrats. It’s hard to find time away from work to get out, you got any local spots you can hit after or before work, Or just for days off?
The white glide or the bubble bee, white is a bass pro swerve, there around $17 and the manta is linked in bio, not affiliated with either company in any way I bought em myself I just like em enough I always recommend them to others. Super cheap and work awesome
I 100% agree, I absolutely love it. I fish it on the Mississippi River for pike and in the current it makes some amazing glides back and forth, great bait for pike and even bass I’ve had eat them. It’s becoming my new favorite lure
You’re right I was thinking Minnesota, that’s my bad. You guys have it nice down there for bass fishing. I forget people outside the Midwest watch musky videos haha
No hate but something I would love to see you do is use a lighter setup so those musky can really fight and pull some drag! Anyways lovely video and beautiful musky! Fish on 👊🎣
Haha I totally understand where your coming from but light setups are not good for musky, letting them fight can actually stress them out and can kill them, it’s better to get them in fast and back in the water fast. Musky arn’t about the fight but about the challenge. As much fun as it would be to let them fight it’s just not good for them
Every reel is gonna sound rough with 80 pound braid haha, I also got a little sand in her at the first spot 😔, cleaned it this morning and it sounds much better
She sure is, puts up with my long 16 hour days on the water even when the mosquitos are out. Thats commitment haha. We spent the rest of the night exploring the Lake Superior area since that’s where our hotel was, I wish I could post pictures in the chat to show how beautiful the area was!
Got to return the favor netting a state record contending fish for a buddy. An IL 50.75 monster, I got a 51 last June so we got two state record caliber fish in less than a year. Fishing my first musky tournament tomorrow
Oh my that is crazy, I love netting friends fish just as much as I like catching them myself. It’s always exciting to see such a high caliber fish get put into the net and you get that sigh of relief as it’s in the net. Thats amazing, congrats to you both!!!
