Hey Jack! Glad you found the video helpful and welcome to the area. The Flex Mullet is truly a backwater redfish specialist. For our area, I recommend dark colors. The turbid water we have here really contrasts well with darker colors. Lighter colors tend to disappear in the muddiness. Flex Mullet colors that I'd recommend are: 'Bayou Magic', 'Terrebonne Special', 'Dorado', 'Dirty Dorado', 'Chupacabra', and 'Professor P'. Those are all solid colors and will get you good results. My skiff is an Ankona Native SUV 17. They are made in Florida, but I bought mine used from a guy in Rockport, TX. Awesome for skinny water applications. Thanks again for reaching out! Haha Jerry, those are my secret cuts. JK, but the idea is not so much the exact spot, but, more so the habitat that the spot provides for ambush predators like redfish. I'd recommend going to Google Earth and finding marshy habitat. Then, within the marsh, look for narrow creeks that drain larger ponds or bodies of water. When the tide goes out, the reds will stack up at the mouth of those creeks to feed on baitfish getting pulled out of those back ponds. Hot tip* if the creek mouth has oysters in it, that's this ticket!
