Nice catch! and for those who don't understand island fishing don't comment. We been doing this fishing for generations, we only fish to eat or sale to the local fish market....so come down to the island and will teach you how to fish and conserve...
I understand your concern. I'm from Guam and am out on the Gulf Coast now. I see the different types of laws/ rules/ regulations. The good thing about being on the island is that there are NO laws and NO limits in regards to amount or size of the fish. The waters in the mainland and the waters back home are totally different. You just have to witness it yourself to believe it. This is a lifestyle and part of the culture that has been existent for thousands of years and carries on to this day ..... and there has never been a shortage of fish. Happy fishing yan BIBA GUAHAN! BIBA LIBERATION!
i doubt netting a helpless game fish is legal, its inhumane for sure, i mean wheres the challenge in catching a fish who can't swim away, theyre stuck there due to the tide shift, you should help them rather then hurt them
there is much more involved than what you say...there is the traditional reading of the moons as some moons are better for fishing and some are not...there is the understanding of the tides and timing...you cant just go out there and catch, thats the game of it is when you were taught from your ancestors how to use the moons and the timing of the tides...thats islander life..
