I ended up going to the Ace Hardware on 1742 N Bahama Ave, they had everything I needed, SXR-10 Glass Ghost Xrap, 20 lb power pro line and 40 lb Seaguar STS Trout fluoro carbon leader, along with the BG4000 Daiwa rod and reel I used. I guess there's also Marco Island Bait & Tackle on 1757 San Marco Rd Suite B... But I liked Ace, also used Ace in Naples at 11673 Collier Blvd. Not sure if anyone rents out fishing tackle, maybe... But that rod and reel is pretty cheap as is, it will handle most the snook, red fish, lady fish, sea trout and jacks... Still have dreams how much fun it was fishing the beach and that Marco rock peninsula. Have fun... I tried a lot of lures, Xrap glass ghost jerkbait caught everything!!! If you lock down on how to work jerkbait, you'll out fish everyone around you, even the chumps using live bait... @@Simplycomfortfood yeah I may eventually move down there too, tired of waiting to softwater fish in spring, too much down time in winter, I don't care for ice fishing...

Yeah the one dude Mike was telling me about them, they kind of look like jacks, someone on the each was keeping them and said they're good eating. Such as blast catching so many different species! Thanks for identifying it for me!

Heaven over there, never know what ya might catch! Seen a giant Manta Ray hovering by that point!! Definitely had a few breakoffs too of some toothy critters near dusk...

It's a blast man, nothing like it, so many different species to catch! Yep, they seem to change on a daily basis too!

@@EternalAngler After an hour of not seeing a fish, and months of no fishing, my spidy senses were on low alert and of course that's when a really nice smally took my KVD 1.0 Brim color and I wasn't sure if I even had a fish on until it broke the surface. Needless to say I lost it. It was so refreshing to finally get out.

@@NorthernMike Bummer, well keep at it, I had like 4 chances land some huge snook today, blew all 4... lol How does one do that, dunno, they kept coming off!!! Oh yeah, I bet it's nice to get out in some decent at Michigan.

@@jdfishing3659 they having public parking at 870 County Rd 951 or type in "Marco Island South Public Beach Access" on google maps, but you have to pay, heard at times on weekend lot can become all full, might have to get there early on the weekends, got public restrooms too. The hotel name is cozumel condo association. Go get ya a monster snook, tight lines!
