Coming back home from northern Alberta with a new personal best northern! It was a grind. 12 hours of casting left my wrists sore and my back aching but it did pay off!
Holy hell. I commented before I saw you catch that monster. That was a beautiful pike. The colours on the fins just popped. Awesome fish. That was like one of those crazy Manitoba fish.
I'd like to get down to Lacombe and go fish the Len Thompson pond ( stock trout) and also see the world's biggest 5 of Diamonds. Also I recently discovered there's a 5 of Diamonds beer. Nice Pike by the way.
So jealous man. Live near Edmonton. Been going up to a few lakes near Lac La Biche. Haven’t gotten my trophy pike yet! Been close in the 30s but no 40 yet. Congrats!
Love the responsible angling dude, I wish more people fished like you. You earned my sub. Where roughly are you fishing? I'm in Calgary, not asking you to give up your honey hole but good spots always seem so hard to come by in this province.
My dad's friends were jealous used a yellow red and green spoon in the Machezie River it was in the old ferry crossings no boat caught a large walleye aswell in same spot. If you want to catch a 25 pound plus go to the chinchaga river were it meets the Hay River hard to get to you will have to charter a helicopter from High Level Alberta or have quads to get in that is where you will find your trophy pike cousin caught one it was so big it made mine look small
St. Croix Triumph, Heavy 7Ft Shimano Curado 200, spooled with 30lb Suffix I love this rod combo I’d recommend it to anyone with the budget. It’s caught pike, lakers and I’ve even set out some cut bait on the bottom of a river for big channel cats. It can handle it
