Learned years ago that tiny baits get bit by EVERYTHING. Crappie and trout fishing had me catching bass and catfish almost as often as whenI was targeting them specifically.

I saw a kid fishing for Crappie catch one of the biggest largemouth I've ever seen in real life. It was early Spring and he was fishing a poor Crappie location, very shallow pea gravel with a little drop off on the back. Yellow hair jig. Was complete chaos after he and the fish realized they were hooked up. He got it in though.

In my boat going along the shoreline casting for bass and pike... this old lady comes running down onto the dock screaming to get away from her water, you cannot fish here... I rolled my eyes at her and told her per MN law it is a public water and I can fish where I want. I have low tolerance for people like that. I made sure to plop a cast on a rock 6" from shore just to piss her off. When I twitched it into the water a 3 pound smallie slammed it! She was turning all kinds of colors as I released it and kept moving along the shore...

Micro lures are so fun. I have a huge collection and fish all over Europe, usually urban fishing. I catch so many species in the strangest places. Great fun. (micro lures in Europe are smaller than the ones you call micro)

So close to BFS, but then...not. After getting into BFS myself just a few months ago, I've since caught 7lb largemouth, 2lb black crappie, 1lb warmouth and bluegill, all on the same 1/16oz (or less) truly micro lures. I decided to try BFS when using full size tackle just wasn't catching anything in the exact same locations where BFS now literally catches dozens. Like most fishermen, I kinda thought it was more gimmick (or at least very regional, specifically Japanese), but BFS is legit. Ironically, the best fishing times I've had lately have been catching pretty big fish with BFS as well as Tenkara fly gear.
