Fishing Pymatuning Lake for the First Time

If you fish the causeway, walk as far as you can towards the Ohio side under the bridge. The water moves pretty good. I used a crappy rig on the bottom with red worms and caught a bunch of Bluegill, White bass, Catfish and even a small mouth. Nothing great size but they kept me busy

The old goto for pymi is a sinker with a hook or floating jig head about a 1-2' off the bottom with a half a nightcrawler or minnow. Works day or night. Good luck to you. Perch will drive you nuts lol Walleye really start hitting hard around sunset. Good luck to you.

A valid fishing license for either Ohio or Pennsylvania works anywhere on the lake so location doesn't matter.

Next time try chicken livers or beef liver for cats. Beef liver is better for long casts : ) I live in Meadville, PA and have fished Pymatuming many times.....trust me....those livers work for cats

Dang I was planning on taking my boat for the first time on Pymatuning as soon as possible. Now I'm thinking Erie would be a better out come for a first timer.

I'll never fish pyma again! 😂
